SOUTH Devon are through to an Aaron Printers quarter-final clash with Torquay after beating Chelston & Kingskerswell by 86 runs.

Divan Marais clattered an unbeaten 118 as South Devon totted up 188 for three.

Marais put on 88 for the second wicket with David Knowles (32) and 72 for the third with Mike Smith (21).

Jason Parr’s one for 16 from four overs was the bowling highlight for Chelston & Kingskerswell.

There was no happy return to Marsh Road for ex-South Devon skipper Pat Duke, whose four overs cost 51 runs.

Parr then top scored for Chelston with 59 in a total of 102 all out.

Jon Martin (3-11) had the edge in the bowling returns over James Allen (2-7).

Torquay are due to visit South Devon on Thursday (June 9) night in the last eight. The winners will play Dartington & Totnes or Stoke Gabriel, who play their twice-delayed game on June 16.

Already through to the last four are Bovey Tracey and Paignton, who meet at Torquay on June 24.
