OTTERY St Mary were frustrated by the weather when they were rained off against visiting Ivybridge.

The Bridge found life hard in moist conditions against Ottery’s seam attack, in particular Will Harrison (2-27) and struggled to 130 all out.

Having been 68 for three when Jeewan deSilva was dismissed by Joe Birch, the slumped to 84 for seven under pressure from Ollie Reed (2-22) and spinner Jody Clements (3-28).

Skipper Kelvin Trent was ninth out for a top score of 29. Next best with 20 was Pete Abraham.

Ottery found it no easier when they batted and were 32 for four when rain stopped play.

There were two wickets each for Jamie Bullock and Abraham.

Frustrated Ottery skipper Rob Crabb said: “We bowled and fielded really well to keep Ivybridge to 130.

“The game was in the balance when the rain arrived.”

Next up for Ottery is a trip to South Devon, who are still looking for their first league win of the season.
