Bridestowe made it two wins on the bounce as they overcame local rivals Whitchurch in a rain-affected game.

Bridestowe skipper Gary Sizmur elected to bowl first.

Whitchurch got off to a slow start, but kept wickets in hand thanks to steady innings from Rob Bone (31) and Billy Barriball (37).

Charlie Barriball (79) upped the pace significantly, smashing the bowlers to all parts. He was removed by Jack Hatton (4-67), who picked up a number of wickets early in his spell.

Mark Gibbs (45) kept the scoreboard moving, but Sizmur (3-28) returned to clean up the tail as Whitchurch were bowled out for 282.

A heavy shower over tea was compounded by the fact that the covers were slow being put on.

This meant that the chase was reduced to only 25 overs, and the target revised to 158.

Bridestowe got off to a flyer through Sizmur (25) and Tom Fogerty (24).

Captain Billy Barriball (2-19) dragged Whitchurch back in to the game getting both out caught.

James Ewen (17) kept the scoreboard racing before he was bowled by Poole (2-38).

Bridestowe then lost a couple more soft wickets, and the game was in the balance at 80-5. Hatton (38) and Alex Jopling (12) got them close, before some clean hitting from Mark Butler (21no) got the visitors over the line with more than three overs left.
