OTTERY St Mary are up to third in the B Division table after cruising to a six-wicket win at South Devon.

Richard Beaumont top scored with 59 as South Devon mustered 156 all out.

Having been 124 for three when Beaumont was bowled by Matt Reed (2-32) it was a disappointing collapse on South Devon’s part.

David Knowles (20) and Beaumont had given South Devon a solid start and Beaumont kept it going with Divan Marais (37).

Of the rest only Cameron Fogden (18) made it into double figures.

The wickets were shared among the Ottery bowlers with two each for Ollie Reed, Matt Reed, Alex Thurgage and skipper Rob Crabb.

Ottery got to 73 without loss through Dan Flower (24) and Billy Rudolph (32), then stumbled to 88 for three and 98 for four. Beaumont (2-30) picked off both openers.

George Biggs (39) and Alex Thurgate (20) saw Ottery over the jitters with an unbroken stand of 63 to win the game in the 28th over.

Victory puts Ottery third behind leaders Plymstock and second-placed Ivbridge. They are at home to fast-improving Shobrooke Park this Saturday.

South Devon are at home to Thorverton in a basement battle.
