SEATON are sitting on a 10-point lead over Feniton at the top of the C East table after winning by 11 runs at Barnstple & Pilton.

The scoring rate slowed while George McEndoo (1-21), Henry McEndoo (0-21) and Jack Moore (1-3) were operating and Seaton were glad of Mark Bray (38no) and Joe Berry (22no) for a 40-run stand at the end.

Barnstaple & Pilton were handicapped by losing Shaun Cole and Brady Saunders cheaply, but with Tom Popham (75) going great guns they got into the game. Moore’s 33 kept the board ticking over.

The game was won and lost by Seaton skipper Ben Morgan, whose five-wicket second spell knocked the stuffing out of B&P;s middle order.

Joel Seward (1-32) had nine mean overs too as B&P ran out of overs at 163 for eight.

CHARLIE Selly and Alex Frankpitt both his half-centuries as Feniton set up a 69-run win over Countess Wear.

Feniton made an inauspicious start – Oli Byles accounted for openers Mark Salter and Graham Tucker for 19 on the board – but Mark Kingdon (42) and Selly (68) moved the score to 104 for four.

Frankpitt was involved in partnerships of 47 with Selley and 61 unbroken with Jon Pyle as the score mounted.

Once Kav Dias (1-23 off 9) was bowled out, Wear found it hard keeping the runs down, although Gavin Darke and Steve Holland were respectable.

Wear had it all to do after dipping to eight for three – and started doing it while Ian Ballinger (35) and Dias were putting on 91 for the fourth wicket.

Kam Singh (22) and Darke (34no) kept the chase alive, but not long enough.

The end came in a hurry as the last three wickets went for four runs as Wear slipped to 178 all out.

The wickets were shared round with two each for Kingdon, Adam Ramcharran and Jon French.

CLYST Hydon stay one off the bottom in the C Division West after losing by five wickets at Uplyme.

Sinthruan Thevaraj (27) and Dhanuja Haturusingha (28) rescued Hydon from 13 for two with a stand of 40, then Clinton Lewis (30) joined Thevaraj to put on 38 for the fourth wicket.

After that it was downhill all the way to 133 all out with Oz Besley (18) the only batter to hang round long.

Uyplme won at a canter with more than 13 overs to spare with Nick Dinnison (32) there at the end.

Earlier, Rob Thom (20) and Mark Brimicombe (30) had chipped in to the chase.

AXMINSTER are up to sixth in the C Division East after beating Cullompton by 68 runs.

It was Town’s second win on the trot and moved them 19 points clear of the relegation places.

Cully, who were rained off against lowly Barnstaple & Pilton last time out, are down to fifth at Uplyme and Kilmington both went past them.

Opener Mike Wakley was the man of the moment for Axminster, carrying his bat for an unbeaten 116. Wakely faced 154 balls and hit 11 fours and seven sixes.

Wakley was involved in stands 54 with skipper Paul Miller (11) and 50 with Ben Fuzzard (33).

Cully skipper James Blackmore tried eight bowlers, the most effective being Lee Nesling – one for 14 from nine – Adrian Pullin (2-6) and Jack Grandfield (0-22 in 9).

Cullompton only got as far as the 30th over before they were bowled out for 126 – Fuzzard (4-29) and Nick Taylor (3-28) doing most of the damage.

Tafara Mupariwas had 37 in a running total of 87 for six when he was dismissed by Taylor,.

Grandfield’s 33 was next best as Cully slid to defeat.

KILMINGTON had too much firepower with bat and ball for Filleigh in a one-sided encounter.

Tom Gooding nailed a top score of 96 for Kilmington in their tally of 257 for nine, Brett Garner made 39.

Filleigh were all out for 178 in reply, no one making more than James Marsh (39). Simon Prideaux (31) was next best.
