Tolchards DCL A Division previews – week four: Kingdon back to strengthen Thorverton batting | Bovey make four changes

Bovey Tracey

A DIVISION PREVIEWS – WEEK FOUR

THORVERTON V BOVEY TRACEY

Thorverton (Jake Choules): Decent availability and just the one change which is pleasing. Andy Kingdon back in for Ben Coe, who will skipper the 2nd XI. Don't know much about Bovey, but expecting them to be strong. If the rain stays away then I'm hopeful the cloudy conditions might suit us.

Bovey Tracey (Seb Ansley): Four out this week, including myself, Lewis Hammett, Olly Clifford-Bourne and Will Christophers so chances for those in the 2nd XI to put their hands up for future weeks. Ed Foreman, Sam Harvey, Sam Russell, Charlie Hill all in, so plenty of first team experience still. Looking to build on last week’s good bowling performance once more! Pete Bradley skippers in my absence.

TORQUAY & KINGSKERSWELL V TAVISTOCK

Torquay & Kingskerswell (Harry Passenger): Got a few players back this week, looking to keep the positives from the Bovey game and run with them. Tavvy seem to be on top form, so looking forward to a strong game. Alex Peggie is back from a one-week sabbatical

Tavistock (Sean Cleave): Charlie Barriball and Ian Gray out with Dave Ball in. We've just dual registered Cornwall under-19 left-arm spinner Tom Clarke from Wadebridge CC and he will be playing Saturday. We’re looking to build on our positive start to the season, but we know that a trip to Torquay is never an easy task. The squad is full of confidence, yet we understand the importance of sticking to the basics and staying focused if we want to come away with a positive result..

KILMINGTON v HATHERLEIGH

Kilmington (Oli Reed): One change again this week. Brett Garner out for Exeter Uni student Dattu Vadakutte. It is his first game for us. which will strengthen our batting. Expecting a challenging game against an in-form Hatherleigh team. I am wanting a better performance from our bowlers. We need to be more consistent.

Hatherleigh (Rob Cockwill): Looking to bounce back after a disappointing result last week. We have played good cricket for three weeks now, so we hope to continue that. Ryan Quick is back in the side after his honeymoon. Rob Fishleigh returns.

CULLOMPTON V BRIDESTOWE & BELSTONE

Cullompton (Dan King): James Vincent away (family commitments) replaced by Silukhdeep Singh. England DP player Dan Reynaldo comes in for Nisapthan Saravanane to further strengthen bowling options. Looking forward to the opportunity to build on performances from last two rounds.

Bridestowe & Belstone (Tallan Burns): Tom Pengelly, Simon Gillespie unavailable this week while Paul Penberthy is playing for the 2nd XI. In comes Ryan Dennis, Leon Horn and a debut for young seamer Lewi Harrison.

PLYMPTON V BARTON

Plympton (Harry Kandampully): One change from last week. Kristian King drops down to the 2n XI in place of Tom Appleyard, who comes on to strengthen the bowling. Expecting a tough game against Barton, who are always up for it. Need to be at our best in all three disciplines. Hoping the weather doesn't play a part in the game.

Barton (Stephen Lewis): Craig Eaves and Sean Kirk are back in the fold. Still no pro and Cole Harford away unfortunately. Morgan Harford suspended. We have done well in all three aspects so this weekend we need to piece it all together. Will be a tough challenge against their obvious danger men. But we are positive we can go and push them all the way and bring home a positive result.
