PREMIER DIVISION PROSPECTS – WEEK SEVEN

PAIGNTON v BRADNINCH & KENTISBEARE

Paignton (Harry Ward): Great to have Neil Hancock back in the side – his quality and experience will be a big boost for this one. Unfortunately, Noah Wright is unavailable this week due to being on holiday. The boys are looking forward to the challenge at Queen’s Park. Bradninch & Kentisbeare are a strong side with plenty of quality and will no doubt be eager to bounce back after last week. As a group, we’re focused on going out there, expressing ourselves, and enjoying the game together as a tight-knit group

Bradninch & Kentisbeare (Gary Chappell): Hardy and Wubbeling away, Farley back in. Clearly an important game with Paignton on a hot streak, but it's a long season and anything can happen in such a competitive division. We had a free swing to go clear last week, but nothing was lost. We'll look to get back to what was working well for us this season in the 50-over stuff.

SIDMOUTH v PLYMOUTH

Sidmouth (Luke Bess): Matt Matravers back to school so unavailable. Elstone back in. Cameron Neame comes in for E J Cunningham. Cunningham unavailable for a week due to work commitments scheduled before we signed him. Neame (NZ) - played with Elstone in nz over the winter so joined us for this season. Been playing 2s because of overseas ruling. Will take new ball Saturday in the 1s. Huntley unfortunate to miss out. Ben Way also back available. Plymouth no doubt full of confidence after last week, expect it to be a tough fixture.

Plymouth (Sam Stein): One or two changes this week due to unavailability, but still a strong side put out. The depth of our squad this year is much improved. Hoping to push on from a good win last weekend and take the form to Sidmouth. Ben Stein back in and Ollie Parsons in. Rahul Randev is in as well - all handy additions.

HEATHCOAT v NORTH DEVON

Heathcoat (Dylan Penberthy-Hutchings): Nothing to report.

North Devon (Jack Moore): A few out this week. Jay Rothery performing at ‘Download’ doesn't help. Jack Whittaker out in Spain and Tom Popham out for the season after rupturing Achilles in a T20. Under no illusions we are in for a tough season, but if we can compete in every game and stick together then that holds us in good stead for the next few years. No one expects anything of us this year in reality, so allows us to release the shackles and play without pressure. I'm confident we have enough to compete and stay in the division, but it's down to us to show everyone else that. Heathcoat are a good side who we always have good games against.

EXMOUTH v EXETER

Exmouth (James Horler): Fin Marks (captain) away with work so I am taking over in the interim. Dan Pyle and Hugo Brenton back in. Exeter always a tough side; haven't played them for a couple of seasons (due to rain), so looking forward to the battle.

Exeter (Clint McCabe): We're missing a couple to school commitments but gain some experience from the 2nd XI in Elliot Barnes and Jonathan Lewis-Oliver. We're looking forward to a good game on a lovely ground at Exmouth

CORNWOOD v SANDFORD

Cornwood (Elliott Staddon): Two changes from last week’s rained off fixture with Samarpit Joshi having to head home to India for a two-week tournament then returning so replaced by Ryan Rickard who is back available after being away for 2 weeks. With Samarpit heading back gives the opportunity to bring up our Australian bowler Will Sharp, who has been playing in the 2nd XI due to the restrictions on overseas. Unfortunately, James Richardson, who has played well, misses out for Will to come in. Hoping for no weather interruptions and a good game against what is always a good side. Few important wickets to get early.

Sandford (Jackson Thompson): Sandford are looking forward to the trip to Cornwood. Always a good place to play cricket. It's going to be a scrap as both teams will give it their all. We have Ollie Knight (16) left-arm seamer making his debut. Joe Hopkins will bat in the middle order. Ciaran Gray comes into the side after his uni commitments. Harrison Jones is away this week but Jamie Palmer returns after a couple of weeks off due to injury.
