Tolchards DCL A Division previews – week seven: Hargreaves (pictured) handed lead-spinner role by Barton skipper

Barton

BARTON v BOVEY TRACEY

Barton (Steve Lewis): A few changes this week. Missing are: Stu Bowker, Morgan Harford and Matt Lipton. Sean Kirk comes back in. Louis Hargreaves enters the side as the lead spinner. Sree Sankaranarayanan is in for control in the bowling department. Swapping Adrian Lipton for Lewis Crocker to get balance in firsts and seconds. Tinashe Kamunhukamwe will make his delayed debut. Expecting a very tough game against Bovey Tracey, again praying for the rain to stay out of the match and give it a really good go and building on the Hatherleigh win.

Bovey Tracey (Seb Ansley): Reverse the Ed Foreman and Sam Harvey swaps from last week, Pete Bradley (injured) should be fine, Olly Clifford-Bourne out for a much-needed weekend away sharpening his football skills so Gethin Williams remains in the side also. Hoping that last week’s deluge was a one off and glad nobody got the jump by getting a game in the league. Barton will be up for it, so want to replicate our clinical performance from two weeks ago.

BRIDESTOWE & BELSTONE v HATHERLEIGH

Bridestowe & Belstone (Craig Penberthy): With Tallan (Burns) away this weekend, I am captaining the side. A few changes from last week’s rain-off sees Tallan, James and Pat all away, so in come Billy Searle, Paul Penberthy and Callum Mallett. We know where we need to be more consistent and lads are looking forward to getting back out there after last week’s rain off. It's going to be a tough game against a Hatherleigh side that have started well. Hopefully? the weather holds off and we can get a full game of cricket in.

Hatherleigh (Rob Cockwill): Mark Lake and Gareth Tidball back in the side. Always a tough test against Bridestowe, looking forward to the game as there is always a bit of added spice when we play them, which is always fun.

KILMINGTON v CULLOMPTON

Kilmington (Oli Reed): A few changes this week. Myself, Matt Reed and Tom Olive out due to my sister's wedding! In comes Ian Gooding, Brett Garner and deserved first-team debut for Dylan Burrough. Josh Cann (pictured) will skipper the side. This Saturday, it’s all about staying positive throughout, having each other’s backs. The league is tight this year so I expect it to be another good contest. Hopefully the lads can bring back the win to make my night a lot more enjoyable!

Cullompton (Dan King): Nisapthan Saravanane comes back into the side for Nathan Vincent. Looking forward to getting back on the field after last week's rain. Looking to continue to improve in the field and our lengths with the ball and batters to bat long and deep into the 50 overs.

TAVISTOCK v THORVERTON

Tavistock (Sean Cleave): Team news: Jack Smyly is away this weekend and I come back in. We're waiting for confirmation on Charlie Barriball until Saturday due to work commitments. We've played Thorverton many times in the past and know they are a great outfit, so we will have to be at our best to get a positive result. Looking forward to a great game.

Thorverton (Jake Choules): Always seems to be poor weather when we play Tavistock! Been refreshing to see them start so well, but always a tough game there regardless. Hopefully, the weather clears and the toss isn't crucial. A few guys back from the side that should have played last week. In come Alex Jopling and Bobby Heard (pictured, below).

PLYMPTON v TORQUAY & KINGSKERSWELL

Plympton (Harry Kandampully): Four changes from last week. Alex Carr, Jamie Bailey, Kristian King and Matt Duckworth come into the side. Ed Hurst has gone home. We wish him well for the rest of the season. Sam Ford and Callum Williams have a school game. Matt Merrien is away. Tough game expected against Torquay & Kingskerswell, who are always a good side. Will need to be at our best. Fingers crossed for the weather.

Torquay & Kingskerswell (Harry Passenger): Again, availability an issue – seems to be most weeks! But looking forward to hopefully another win away from home. They've got some dangerous players so will be important to start off strong.Bobby Heard – back in Thorverton's line-up to face Tavistock
