Table-topping Devon Women face bottom-of-the-league Warwickshire this Sunday, July 14, in the final 50-over game of the season at Exeter CC from 10am.

Devon Women go into the final game of the 50-over season looking to maintain their 100% winning record in the competition and finish the season in first place. A bonus point victory on Sunday should be enough to secure top spot, with Devon currently ahead courtesy of a comfortable Net Run Rate margin over second-placed Gloucestershire.

Warwickshire, who next season will become a Tier 1 side taking over from Central Sparks, currently sit in 10th place, having lost the two fixtures they have played against Worcestershire and Gloucestershire.

Sunday will be the first time both sides have played each other since a Division 2 fixture at Brixham CC in 2012, a game in which England's Amy Jones scored 79 of Warwickshire's 122 runs to set the visitors on their way to victory.

Devon Women will be playing on home soil for just the second time this season and head into the fixture on the back of a convincing 127-run victory over Wiltshire last month.

David Joseph's Thoughts

"Sunday will be a good gauge to see how far we've progressed in the 50-over game this season. The game against Wiltshire was really positive, with the batters and bowlers executing their skills well. Now the challenge is to repeat this against Warwickshire.

"It's great that Emma Corney comes into the side and that Ruby Davis will be getting the opportunity to captain the team."

Captain's Thoughts

"The skill and intent this team showed in last month's win was very special and something we will look to replicate going into Sunday.

"I’m very excited to get to lead this team for the first time and can’t wait to try and earn another win together!"

ECB Women's County Championship - Division 2 (50-over)

A Devon side captained by Rosalie Fairbairn and featuring Amara Carr and Aylish Cranstone set Warwickshire a target of 122 at Brixham CC.

The visitors, whose side featured Amy Jones, Marie Kelly, Liz Russell and Rebecca Grundy, made light work of the chase, with Jones making 79 from 79 balls before being stumped by Alli Kelly.

Devon would go on to finish the season in third place, missing out on promotion to Division 1, while Warwickshire were crowned champions.
