2022 saw the launch of the Devon Cricket Girl's Softball League - a move made in response to the growth in girl's playing and the need to a more formal playing offer for established teams. The hard work of volunteers at clubs at clubs and the more connected approach of working in schools and clubs has seen a big increase in the number of potential teams and girls accessing the game.

Working with the youth leagues, the girls leagues will be centrally run by the Devon Crcicket Foundation.  For detailed team information, you can visit the Devon Cricket Girl's Leagues and Competitions page

The formation of the leagues from under 11 upwards means girls have a clear pathway (see graphic below)  from All Stars to both the women's hardball and softball leagues. It is a very exciting time for girl's cricket in the county.

The softball leagues are all played as pairs and use the Dyanmos format, which the girls all now play in their primary school settings. All games are played in a festival style format, with each club hosting a festival during the season.

This makes softball cricket a very sociable event for the girls, so they not only play games of cricket but have the opportunity to make friends!

With a wicket towards the end, Teignmouth and Shaldon retained the Under 11s Winners Title. Many Congratulations!

The winners of the U13 softball divisions (highlighted in purple) met at Final's Day at Budleigh to see who would be Champions of the league. In a very exciting game, which also came down to the last over, Teignmouth and Shaldon were once again victorious and took the title of League Champions along with their Under 11s team. A very good season for Teignmouth and Shaldon.
