THE eagerly awaited derby clash between Shobrooke Park and Thorverton was washed out after 15 overs.

Thorverton were asked to bat first and were an uncomfortable 35 for three when rain stopped play.

Shobrooke wanted Thorverton’s in-form batter Dave Baldock out early – and Ben Trenaman duly obliged with a second-ball lbw.

Trenaman also accounted for Jamie Khan in his two for 17.

Shobrooke face a tricky trip to promotion-chasing Bideford this Saturday.

Winless Thorverton are at home to bottom side Dartington & Totnes, who have yet to get off the mark themselves.

New skipper David Baldock hopes to have predecessor Graham White back in the side against Darts.

White stood down two weeks ago after Thors’ defeat at Braunton and took last Saturday off.

Baldock, as vice-captain, will be in charge for the rest of the season.
