EXETER stay right behind Sidmouth at the top of the Premier table after thrashing bottom side Brixham by 190 runs.

That’s three wins on the spin now for Exeter who are a single point behind Sidmouth at the top.

Brixham can’t score enough runs to be competitive in the top flight with just two total of more than 100 this season.

Their last four scores have been 98 (Exmouth), 87 (Heathcoat), 63 (Sidmouth) and now 77 all out against Exeter.

It is going to take something special to prevent Brixham returning to the A Division after a solitary season back in the Premier Division, which they were last in back in 1993.

Blake Reed top scored for Exeter with 113 in a useful total of 267 for six.

Tom Lammonby was an early casualty to Corné Dry (2-41), not that Exeter were too worried.

Reed and England U19 star Ben Green (39) put on 97 for the next wicket, then Exeter skipper Miles Lenygon (76) and Reed went from 115 to 233 in 15 overs.

Reed was the last man out in the final over to Craig Eaves (2-43). He batted for 198 minutes, faced 113 balls and hit 14 fours.

Brixham got through seven bowlers trying to stem them flow with Dry, Eaves and Issac Withington all keeping it below five an over.

One option no longer available to skipper Andy Pugh is the seam bowling of Stephen George, who has returned to Paignton after the briefest of stays at Boundary Park.

Brixham were quickly in trouble against former Somerset paceman and IPL star Alfonso Thomas, who had Jake Lawrence, Mark Orchard and Tom Hopper in a 10-over togal of 26 for four. Jon Tipper had the odd man our, which was Eaves (16).

Dry (27) and skipper Andy Pugh hung round for a while, but once they were parted by newcomer Nick Horn Brixham collapsed.

There were two wickets each for Horn, recently arrived from Topsham, Dom Bess and James Bovey as Brixham lost their last five wickets for 14 runs.
