Bovey Tracey have been named the Tolchards Devon Women’s Cricket League Team of the Month for June after an outstanding first half of the 2026 season.

The Division Three leaders have enjoyed a remarkable campaign so far, remaining unbeaten and putting themselves firmly on course for promotion to Division Two.

A blend of youthful enthusiasm, improving individual performances and excellent team spirit has seen Bovey Tracey establish themselves as one of the league’s standout sides. Throughout the season, different players have stepped up at key moments with both bat and ball, while their high fielding standards have helped turn close contests in their favour.

Team manager Jim McCauley was delighted to see the squad recognised for their efforts.

“We are delighted to win the Team of the Month award. All players have made vital contributions to our success so far this season with many getting personal best batting and bowling figures this season. Our fielding has been sharp and there is great camaraderie between the group which was evident in our nail biting win against Holsworthy last weekend! With four games to go we’ve got our sights on promotion but with three of these away from home we’re not going to get complacent just yet!”

League Secretary Chris Sleep and Chair Jo Watson added:

“It has obviously been a very difficult period over the last season for everyone at Bovey Tracey. What the club has come through together has been remarkable, and it is wonderful to see the girls back out on the field, enjoying their cricket and, most importantly, winning games again.

Libby Hooper has done a fantastic job of leading the group. She has kept the team together through an incredibly challenging time and deserves enormous credit for the positive environment she has created. The way the players have supported one another, continued to develop and produced such consistent performances makes them thoroughly deserving recipients of our June Team of the Month award. We wish everyone at Bovey Tracey the very best for the remainder of the season as they continue their push for promotion.”

With three league matches remaining, Bovey Tracey know there is still plenty of work to do if they are to complete their promotion bid. However, an unbeaten start, outstanding team spirit and consistent performances have made them worthy recipients of the June Team of the Month award.
