B DIVISION BRIEFING – WEEK 13
CLYST ST GEORGE v CHUDLEIGH
Clyst St George (Dan Kendall): Able to name an unchanged side for the first time this season, despite half the team battling illness this week. Every game from here on in is now ‘must-win’ for us
Chudleigh (Matt Heather): Holiday season has started so a few changes this week. Ben Quaintance is back in for James Bowden and I'm back to replace (keeper-batter) Tim Sandercombe. Tim has been our most consistent player this year so will be missed. It's looking like Manroz will take the gloves on Saturday.
TEIGNMOUTH & SHALDON v BARTON
Teignmouth & Shaldon (Carl Woolnough): Two washouts in a row now, which hasn't been ideal. Looking forward to a home game with some decent weather. It'll be a tough day against a strong team but we will be fighting hard. If we can get into their batting early there is a chance of an upset. I'm still unavailable, the only change from last week being Scott Baxter for Tsepho Legodi. He's a talented batter and I'm looking forward to him getting amongst it.
Barton (Steve Lewis): Another good team selection. Louis Hargreaves has earned a place back in the first team and some experience coming in also with Greg and Sreejith Sankaranaryanan. In a good position to be able to make these decisions game to game. Shaldon are the team in-form and we are mentally ready for a form-wise, top-end clash. Need to stay disciplined and get the basics right to have a chance of winning this match. Just looking forward to playing cricket after a wash-out.
BIDEFORD v STOKE GABRIEL
Bideford (Tom Brend): Better availability this week and back to a more typical side. Both Hayters (James and Julian) are back in after a long holiday back-packing around Thailand. Looking forwards to getting a game in this weekend against a side that are pushing for promotion. Should be a good contest.
Stoke Gabriel (Jake Robinson): No changes for us, looking forward to the trip to the dark side of Devon.
BOVEY TRACEY II v CULLOMPTON
Cullompton (Brendan Parr): A couple of changes. Jack Grandfield and Paul Rendall are both unavailable for the 1st XI this week. Back comes the experience of Chris McKee and a first-team debut for bowler Sineth Bandara, whose hard work in the 2nd XI has paid off. Aways a decent game against Bovey; looking forward too it!
Bovey Tracey (Dan Green): Got few back – Arren de Young, Charlie Hill and Ben Kay – so the side looks good. Looking to keep enjoying our cricket and finish in the top four.
IPPLEPEN v BUDLEIGH SALTERTON
Ipplepen (Matt Beasant): Just the one change this week. I'm at a ‘stag’ do, so George Tapley will be taking the reins. In comes Cal Stanley to slot in to the top order to do what he does best. We will be looking to replicate our performance at their place. We have drifted in recent weeks, there are no easy games in this league, will be hoping for a positive performance and result.
Budleigh Salterton: Nothing to report.
