B DIVISION BRIEFING – WEEK THREE
Seaton v Braunton
Seaton (Tim Doulton): We welcome back Sam Dormer to our bowling attack - he will be very important to us improving our fielding display also. Arthur Whitby is back with the 2nd XI.
Braunton (Sam Reddick): Unchanged this week which is always nice. Plenty to build-off from last week as we look to win back-to-back games. We know will need to bring our best again to beat Seaton away from home. Fundamentals remain the focus for us. Some early inroads will allow Mitchell and Baglow to turn the screw in the middle overs. Looking forward to the challenge.
Clyst St George v Bideford
Clyst St George (Par Singh): Dan Kendall, Bertie Creer and Andrew Taylor are back in after missing out last week. We had two great games last season against Bideford and being at home we know what it takes to win at Bohea. I’m looking for more consistency from the boys especially with the bat.
Bideford (Jack Ford): All-rounder Marcus Bulled and 2nd XI captain James Greenleaf into the side. James Ford also back into the side after 120 and 60 in his last two innings. Had to bring dad back into the team so I can move back into the family home, after being kicked out when I dropped him to the 2nd XI! Clyst are always tough opposition and so expecting nothing different this week. Still lots of work-ons for us from our fightback win against Ashburton last weekend. Hoping to up our game to the next level this week.
Stoke Gabriel v Bovey Tracey II
Stoke Gabriel (Jack Tolley): One change this week. Adriaan Maxwell is at a family barbecue so Will Culver comes in. Looking to build on a good start last weekend.
Bovey Tracey II (Dan Green): I am away on a ‘stag’ do so Ed Foreman is stepping in we also have no Tom Steer but Ryan Bougourd and Charlie Hill in so team looks in great shape.
Plymstock v Barton
Plymstock (Tom Mitch): Josh Sumner returns and will take the gloves. Fraser Cowen misses out. Looking to build on last week’s result and continue to get better.
Barton (Steve Lewis): Few players back this week. Fin and Adam Last as well as Stuart Bowker. Harry Shelton is also back from injury. Gives us more depth in the batting department and a couple of strike bowlers. With the same atmosphere and energy with this side we can aim to win matches at this level. That is the target. Haven’t played Plymstock in a few seasons, so no comment on them! We will have to work it out Saturday.
Ashburton v Plympton
Ashburton (Lloyd White): Ash Berry and George Yabsley, come in for Will Coon and Matt Partridge. Looking to put in another absolutely solid performance with the ball and to become more solid with the bat. Once again praying weather stays away and looking forward to welcoming Plympton.
Plympton (Harry Kandampully): One change this week. Sam Ford comes back into the side. Jamie Bailey drops down to the 2nd XI. After last week, this Saturday takes on an even bigger game. We don’t know much about Ashburton, but both sides are winless so far so we know they will be really up for it.
[O] Ashburton and Plympton have not played each other in a league game since meeting in the old C Division in 1994.
