B DIVISION BRIEFING – WEEK TWO

Braunton v Barton

Braunton (Sam Reddick): One change for us this week as Simon Murfet comes in for Jason Raynor. Simon will add depth to our batting line-up. Barton will present a new challenge for us so we will be looking to play our best cricket to get off to a winning start this week.

Barton (Steve Lewis): Muhammad Basit, our official pro, has arrived. He is obviously straight in. Feeling very ready now for Saturday. Hope the weather is good so we can play some cricket and get the season up and running. Haven’t played at Braunton for many years, lovely ground. Never had an easy match against them so fully expect the same! Excited…

Plympton v Plymstock

Plympton (Harry Kandampully): Only one change this week. Sam Ford is unavailable due to a school game. New signing Dillon Tollworthy (Trowbridge CC) comes in for his debut. Plymstock are a strong side and from reports have strengthened over the winter. We are expecting a tough test and will need to be at our best.

Plymstock (Tom Mitch): One change this week. Mike Blackmore comes in for Josh Sumner who is away.Hoping for some better weather this week to get the season started properly against a side we don’t know too much about. We’re expecting a tough game of cricket, but I have every confidence we’ll end up on the right side of the result.Bovey Tracey seamer Ben Steer

Bovey Tracey v Clyst SG

Bovey Tracey II (Dan Green): Ben Steer in this week; Ryan Bougourd is in side but waiting on an injury update. Charlie Hill and Harry Pitman not available this week.

Clyst St George (Par Singh): Few returning players this week. Inder Singh and Owain are back in the squad for the unavailable Dan Kendall and Andrew Taylor. Bertie Creer is away also but should be fine for the home game against Bideford. Pink-ball cricket is certainly something the traditionalists won’t enjoy. Finding our feet at the moment with it all. Always enjoy our games with Bovey Tracey. Hard-fought encounters played in good spirit

Bideford v Ashburton

Ashburton (Lloyd White): Will Coon and Matt Partridge in for George Yabsley and Ashley Berry. A good enough side to compete on all fronts. Forecast much better, so looking forward to getting out there.

Bideford (Jack Ford): Young spinner Elliot Currie comes into the side after an impressive eight overs last weekend for the 2nd XI against South Devon. We don’t really know too much about Ashburton, so expecting it to be another tough fixture. Hoping the weather stays away unlike last weekend.

Seaton v Stoke Gabriel

Seaton (Tim Doulton): This week see’s our first-change bowler in Sam Dormer miss out due to unavailability. We have brought in Arthur Whitby, who spent pre-season with us. We are excited to see what he can do with bat and ball.

Stoke Gabriel (Jack Tolley): We go to Seaton unchanged. Very disappointed to lose out to the weather Saturday after a good start with the ball. Looking to build on that this weekend, ready to take on a side we haven't played much cricket against for a long time. The boys are keen to get back on the field.
