Tolchards Devon Women’s League T20 8-a-side Final
Budleigh Salterton v Bovey Tracey
Exeter CC – Sunday 13 September, 11.00am

Budleigh Salterton and Bovey Tracey will meet at Exeter CC on Sunday morning with the Tolchards T20 8-a-side title on the line.

Both sides came through the group stage at the top of their respective sections, although they took slightly different routes to the final.

Bovey were dominant in Group A, winning all six of their matches to finish on 18 points, six clear of Clyst St George.

Budleigh topped Group B on 12 points, three ahead of Sidmouth, to secure their place in the final.

There have been plenty of individual performances along the way, particularly from a Bovey side who arrive with several players having enjoyed strong campaigns.

Isabelle Bradley has been one of their leading batters, scoring 152 runs and registering two half-centuries, with a best of 65 not out.

Evie Lockett has also made her mark with the bat, scoring 116 runs and passing fifty once, with a best of 55 not out.

Bovey have had plenty of success with the ball as well.

Lynsey Sell leads the competition’s bowling standings with eight wickets from 19 overs, including best figures of 3-9, while Isabella Baker is just behind with seven wickets and best figures of 3-11.

That gives Bovey plenty of options with both bat and ball, but Budleigh have produced some standout performances of their own on their route to Exeter.

One of the highlights came in their victory over Sidmouth, when Hannah Bolwell returned remarkable figures of 3-3.

It is exactly the sort of spell which can turn a short-format game very quickly and gives Budleigh another potential match-winner heading into the final.

The 8-a-side format rarely leaves much room for recovery, with every over and every wicket carrying extra importance.

Bovey’s perfect Group A record shows how consistently they have handled that pressure, while Budleigh did enough across their campaign to finish ahead of a competitive Group B and book their place in the final.

Sunday gives both sides the chance to turn a strong group campaign into silverware.

Bovey will be looking to complete an unbeaten competition, while Budleigh will hope Bolwell and the rest of their side can produce the big moments when it matters most.
