Tolchards Devon Women’s League T20 Preview

There are two important fixtures across the Tolchards Devon Women’s League this week, with places in the knockout stages and top spot in the table firmly on the line.

Tolchards Devon Women’s League T20 Plate – Group B

Clyst St George v Exmouth 2nd XI Monday 29 June

The Tolchards Devon Women’s League T20 Plate Group B returns on Monday night, with Exmouth making the short trip to Bohea Field to take on Clyst St George.

Victory for Exmouth would see them move level on points with Group B leaders Whimple, setting up a potential semi-final decider when the two sides meet on Sunday, 5 July.

Exmouth will head to Bohea Field full of confidence after winning the reverse fixture and know another victory would leave qualification for the semi-finals firmly in their own hands.

Clyst St George are still searching for their first win of the competition, but there have been encouraging signs with the bat. Captain Ali West struck an unbeaten 43 against Whimple, while Chloe Williams impressed with 42 against Exmouth.

It is a must-win encounter for Clyst St George if they are to keep their hopes of reaching the semi-finals alive.

Tolchards Devon Women’s League T20 8-a-Side – Group A

Exmouth 4th XI v Clyst St George 2nd XI Thursday 2 July

Attention then turns to Thursday evening, when Exmouth 4th XI welcome unbeaten Clyst St George 2nd XI in Group A of the Tolchards Devon Women’s League T20 8-a-Side competition.

Exmouth have won one of their three matches so far but produced their best performance of the campaign last Thursday, posting a competition-high 159 for 5 against Bovey Tracey. The innings was built around a superb unbeaten 105-run partnership between Fran Sampson (66*) and Laura Bradbury (24*), giving the hosts every confidence that the runs will once again flow.

Clyst St George arrive with a perfect record from their opening two matches and know another victory would take them to the top of the Group A table. Daisy Bishop has been in outstanding form with the bat, scoring 94 runs across her two innings so far, and will be looking to continue that rich vein of form.

With Exmouth aiming to build on last week’s batting display and Clyst St George looking to maintain their unbeaten start, it promises to be another entertaining evening of 8-a-side cricket by the seaside.
