A place in next month’s T20 Plate final is up for grabs at Hatherleigh on Monday evening when the hosts take on Bovey Tracey.

Hatherleigh came through their group with three wins from three completed matches, while Bovey were just as impressive in winning both of their completed group games.

For Hatherleigh, Chloe Dennis has been right at the heart of things. She has scored 86 runs and taken five wickets in the competition, while Chloe Rose has made 73 runs without being dismissed.

The pair combined brilliantly against Cornwood, putting on 127 for the first wicket as Dennis made 58 and Rose finished unbeaten on 46.

There have been some strong performances with the ball too. Olivia Cooper took 3-12 in the first Cornwood game, while Dennis claimed 3-13 and Jessica Dennis 2-18 when Cornwood were bowled out for just 57 in the return match.

Jessica Dennis also took 2-15 against Plymouth, with Cooper giving very little away as she conceded just nine runs from her four overs.

Bovey, though, have shown they have plenty of firepower of their own.

Amelie Webber hit an unbeaten 77 and Olive McCauley made 47 as Bovey posted 172 against Teignmouth & Shaldon before going on to win by 97 runs.

They went even better in the return game, reaching 203 without loss and eventually winning by 135 runs.

Their bowling has been a real team effort as well, with seven different bowlers taking wickets when Teignmouth & Shaldon were dismissed for 75.

Webber has now passed 400 runs for the season, while McCauley has also enjoyed a fine summer, including an unbeaten 121 in league cricket.

It makes for a really interesting semi-final. Hatherleigh have been consistent and hard to break down, while Bovey have shown they can take a game away very quickly if they get on top.

With Hatherleigh at home and both sides still unbeaten on the field in the competition, this looks a tough one to call.

The winners will go through to the T20 Plate final on Sunday 13 September at Exeter Cricket Club.
