In Division Three, the promotion race gathered pace as Bovey Tracey preserved their unbeaten record and Exmouth 2nd XI claimed an important away victory over Ottery St Mary.

Paignton welcomed Plymouth for a midweek fixture in the T20 Trophy. Batting first, the hosts posted an impressive 186 from their 20 overs, led by Sophie Kirkup's unbeaten 61 and Jemima Vereker's well-made 54. Plymouth also conceded 50 extras, helping Paignton build an imposing total. Ottery St Mary vs Exmouth 2nds

It was a mid-table battle in Division Three as Ottery St Mary welcomed Exmouth 2nd XI. After winning the toss, the visitors elected to bat first and posted a competitive 172/5 from their 30 overs. Eloise Escott led the way with a fluent 59 from 48 balls, while Amelie Watson finished unbeaten on 32 and Sarah Strode added 18. Ottery's Lily Harlond was the pick of the bowlers, claiming three wickets.

Ottery made a strong start to the chase, with the opening pair putting on 86 before captain Abbie Sullivan was dismissed for a quickfire 58 by Debbie Chilcott. Lily Harlond (17) and Ava Fripp (15) kept the scoreboard moving, but regular wickets halted the hosts' momentum. Exmouth's bowlers held their nerve in the closing stages, with Holly Strode (3/24), Sarah Antonio (2/25) and Eloise Escott (2/11) sharing the wickets to seal a 19-run victory.

Exmouth reflected on the game, “Facing some tight bowling from OSM, exmouth had some great batting partnerships to create a good target of 172 for the opposition. OSM openers were strong and got off to a good start, but some effective bowling and tight fielding from exmouth kept their runs down and gave exmouth the win.

Bovey Tracey vs Holsworthy

League leaders Bovey Tracey were looking to maintain their perfect start to the Division Three season as they welcomed Holsworthy. The visitors won the toss and elected to bat first, but found runs difficult to come by as wickets fell at regular intervals. Isabelle Bradley starred with the ball, claiming an outstanding five-wicket haul (5/17). Evie Clarke top-scored with 16, while Hannah Steadman (10) and Layla Godfrey (10*) were the only other batters to reach double figures as Holsworthy were bowled out for 83 in 19 overs.

Despite the modest target, Bovey's chase was far from straightforward. Holsworthy's bowlers kept the pressure on throughout, reducing the hosts to eight wickets down before they eventually reached their target in the 17th over. Evie Lockett top-scored with 32, while Freya Godfrey (3/25), Layla Godfrey (2/25), Jodie Gardener (2/14) and Sally Ashford (1/19) all impressed with the ball. The victory extends Bovey Tracey's unbeaten record and keeps them at the top of the Division Three table.

Captain Libby Hooper reflected on the game, “Our game against Holsworthy was an intense one, but we still managed to get another win. Lily Colwil and Lauren Ellis had an outstanding final partnership under pressure which took us to the finishing line, Lauren and Lily scoring the winning runs after an intense innings.”
