After 13 years of dedicated service, Susannah Maxa has retired as Treasurer of the Tolchards Devon Women’s Cricket League.
During her time in the role, Susannah has helped oversee the League’s incredible growth, from the days of the Devon Women’s Cricket Association with just a handful of teams to the thriving hardball and softball competitions we enjoy across the county today. Her financial expertise and commitment have also helped ensure Devon remains one of the very few independently run women’s cricket leagues in the country. The League has gone from strength to strength over the past 13 years, with more clubs and teams joining each season and women’s cricket continuing to flourish across Devon.
League Chair Jo Watson and Secretary Chris Sleep said:
“On behalf of everyone at the Tolchards Devon Women’s Cricket League, we would like to thank Susannah for the incredible dedication, commitment and countless unpaid hours she has given to the League over the past 13 years. Her hard work behind the scenes has been instrumental in helping women’s cricket in Devon grow into what it is today.
Susannah leaves the League in a thriving and financially healthy position, something every club and every player across Devon has benefited from. Her contribution to the game cannot be overstated, and her legacy will continue to be felt for many years to come. We wish her all the very best for the future and sincerely thank her for everything she has done for women’s cricket in Devon.”
The League is now seeking a new Treasurer to join its volunteer committee. Anyone interested in the role, or who would like to find out more, is encouraged to contact DWCL Secretary Chris Sleep at dwclsecretary@gmail.com. Or Jo Watson dwclchair@gmail.com
