Tolchards Devon Women's League Team of the Month – May 2026

Congratulations to Ottery St Mary CC, who have been selected as the Tolchards Devon Women’s Cricket League Team of the Month for May 2026.

Having joined the league for the 2026 season, Ottery St Mary have made a fantastic start to life in the DWCL, winning both of their opening fixtures against Holsworthy and Exmouth.

The club’s success is the latest chapter in what has been an exciting journey over the last few seasons. Last year, Ottery St Mary lifted the Hardball Pairs title in the final season of the Super 8s competition, earning the opportunity to take the next step into 11-a-side hardball cricket.

Making the move from pairs cricket into league cricket is never easy, but Ottery St Mary have taken it completely in their stride. Their performances so far have shown that they are more than capable of competing at this level, and they have quickly become a great addition to the league.

As well as their results on the field, the enthusiasm and commitment shown by everyone involved with the club has been fantastic to see. It is always encouraging to see new teams joining the league and thriving, and Ottery St Mary have certainly done exactly that.

Ottery St Mary captain Abbie Sullivan said:

“It’s been a really memorable start to our first 11-a-side hardball season. We’ve received so much support across the club and are very grateful for the opportunity to play competitively in the DWCL. Many of our women have never played 11-a-side cricket and it’s been brilliant seeing everyone thrive in this new environment.”

As Team of the Month, Ottery St Mary received a case of Annings Fruit Cider and a case of Luscombe Elderflower Bubbly, kindly provided by our sponsors, Tolchards, in recognition of their outstanding start to the season.

They have been a fantastic addition to Division Three in their first year, making an impressive start on the field.
