THORVERTON skipper Jake Choules hopes to show off an international signing in Saturday’s derby date with Heathcoat 2nd XI.
David Hooper, who has just moved to the area from Sussex, has played in nine T20 internationals for Guernsey since 2019.
Hooper was a Premier Division cricketer with Mayfield CC in the Sussex League before moving to Devon. He averaged 55 with the bat and 21,62 with the ball in the 2019 season.
Choules said Hooper will be an asset to the club in more ways than one.
“David bats and bowls medium fast and is also a level-three coach so will be a massive asset to both the senior and colts set-ups,” said Choules.
“It is also a really encouraging signing that shows the direction we are heading in as a club.”
