Devon Women maintained their perfect start to the 2026 Metro Bank One Day Cup with a fourth consecutive bonus-point win in Shropshire.

Having lost the toss and been sent in to bat first, Shropshire started well with openers Libby Thomas (25) and Lara Jones (17) putting on 47 for the first wicket. But it was Ellie Bishop (4-30) who found the breakthrough in the eighth over, sparking a flurry of wickets with Abbie Lockett (3-32) to leave the hosts at 75/6 after 16 overs.

Alex Hale (34) and Kate Brazier (17) added 38 for the eighth wicket, but Jasmyne Watson (1-13) broke the stand with her first wicket for Devon Women, before Ella Gill (1-11) and Steph Hutchins (1-11) wrapped up the tail to dismiss the hosts for 179 in 46.4 overs.

Devon's chase got off to a stutter as Jemima Vereker fell lbw to Sophia Parton (1-29) for a duck. That brought Regina Lilii to the crease, who proceeded to share an unbroken 176-run partnership with Bishop. Bishop reached her first competitive Devon Women's century from 105 balls, striking 11 fours and four sixes, while Lilii contributed a fluent 63 from 53 deliveries with 11 boundaries.

The pair accelerated through the middle overs, bringing up the 50 partnership in 51 balls and the 100 in 95 deliveries. Devon reached 183/1 in 26.3 overs, securing a bonus point and moving five points clear at the top of the table.

Lauren Rowles's Post-Match Thoughts

"Another fantastic win for the women against Shropshire, a performance full of quality, confidence, and momentum.

"Ellie Bishop continued her outstanding summer, producing a superb all-round display with 4-30 and a brilliant 100 not out. Her partnership of 176 with Regina Lilii, who finished 63 not out, was the backbone of a dominant batting effort and showcased the consistency both players have been delivering week after week.

"From start to finish, it was a brilliant team performance: disciplined, energetic, and full of intent. The group keeps raising the bar, and it's exciting to see the standards being set across the squad!"

Ellie Bishop's Post-Match Thoughts

"It was great to get another win on Sunday with a very dominant performance. We bowled really well as a team, taking early wickets and putting lots of pressure back onto Shropshire. It was nice to share a big partnership with Gee with the bat.

"The team is in a really good place at the moment with four wins from four in the 50-over competition. It's a quick turnaround with Wiltshire away this Sunday, so our attention now turns to that and making sure we continue the good momentum we have built."
