Category One is the affiliation category for Devon clubs with at least one open-age team playing cricket on a regular basis throughout the season.

An open-age team is any side that, in line with ECB Guidelines, has no age or gender restrictions.

The benefits Category One clubs receive can be broken down into seven categories, which are displayed in the table below.

DEVELOPMENT PLAYING RESOURCES
  • Direct support from the Devon Cricket Foundation‘s Club Development Staff.

 

  • Advice for establishing a Junior Section.

 

  • Invites to Club Roadshows, Development Groups and Seminars.

 

  • Advice for establishing a Women and/or Girls’ section.

 

  • Support with development of disability cricket.
  • Eligible to enter the Tolchards Devon Cricket League.

 

  • Eligible to enter ECB open-age competitions.
  • Access to the ECB Resource Hub.

 

  • Relevant news stories from your club to be shared by The Devon Cricket Foundation.

 

  • Access to ‘Get Set Weekend’ resources.

 

  • Digital copy of the Devon Cricket Foundation Impact Report.

 

  • Information about ECB initiatives and events (e.g. Raising the Game).
SAFEGUARDING &

VOLUNTEERS
  • Direct support from the Devon Cricket Foundation‘s County Safeguarding Officer.

 

  • Access to safeguarding support and guidance.

 

  • Access and support with Safe Hands Management System (SHMS).

 

  • Support with application for the ECB Accreditation Scheme (Clubmark).
  • Direct support from the Devon Cricket Foundation’s Funding & Facilities Manager (including site visits, meetings, facility audits).

 

  • Additional support from the ECB Regional Facilities Manager.

 

  • Eligible for the ‘Tackling Climate Change’ theme of the ECB County Grant Scheme (£1,000 - £10,000).

 

  • Eligible for an ECB interest free loan (£1,000-£20,000).

 

  • Access to offers from ECB Commercial Partners.

 

  • Access to ECB game wide insurance offer through SHMS.
  • Access to all courses run by or in conjuntion with the Devon Cricket Foundation:

    • Groundskeeping

  • Eligible to nominate club volunteers for county and national awards.
