SECONDARY SCHOOL COMPETITIONS 

During the summer months, secondary school's can enter into hardball and softball competitions for boys and girls. Our club and Community Coaches are funded to help promote girls's cricket in secondary schools through the Chance to Shine Secondary School Girl's Programme, which includes taster sessions and leadership opportunities. They also have hours set aside for some work with boys in secondary schools.

BOYS/MIXED SOFTBALL 

During the Summer term, regional rounds for boys/mixed are run by the School Games Organisers. Please contact your local School Games Organiser to enter your team into the 8 aside softball competition.

Eligibility 
This is a ‘mixed’ competition to allow girls to play in the team should their school not be able to field a team in the girls only competition. There is no requirement for ratio of boys/girls in this competition. 

Boys who have represented Devon at hardball cricket are not eligible to play.

The winners of the regional rounds will go through to Final's Day, run by Devon Cricket, on the dates below.

GIRL'S SOFTBALL

This year will be the first year for a countywide girls softball competition and so is being coordinated by Ann-Marie Presswell. Dates of regional and final rounds can be found below. Full rules can be found on the link above.

There are no specific eligibility criteria for the girls competition. However, this softball competition is aimed at those newer to the game and sides should be picked on this basis.

  • Under 15s – Needs to be completed by Friday 17th June 2022 for the regional round

ORGANISING FIXTURES

As in previous years, you will be left to organise your own fixtures with the relevant schools. Please make sure you complete your fixture by the following dates (apart from the Under 11s or 15s): 

  • Last 16 – Completed by 13th May 2021
  • Quarter Finals – Completed by 27th May 2021
  • Semi Finals – Completed by 17th June 2021
  • Finals – Completed by end of term 

THE FINALS
In regard to the final, we will not be organising a neutral ground or holding a large finals day due to the uncertainty around future COVID restrictions.  It will be down to the finalists to decide where to play. If the finalists could please advise us 7 days before the final, where and when the final will be played, we will hopefully be able to organise independent umpires and have a member of Devon Cricket staff will attend.
