A Division previews – week 18

Tavistock (2nd) v Barton (10th)

Tavistock (Sean Cleave): Still finalising the team and waiting on one more availability before we can confirm. Feels like a never-ending season! We’ve played some quality cricket this year and proved we can mix it with the best in this division. We know what we need to do in the final game. My hope is everyone will turn up relaxed, confident and play like we have all season. If we can do that then I'm positive we will get the result we need. Best of luck to Thorverton this weekend too; they've played some great cricket this season. Should be a cracking finish to a really positive season!

Barton (Nick Watkin): Team still being confirmed. Massive game for the 2nd XI this week (versus Yelverton) which has resulted in the selection being the way it will be. Tavistock have been consistently good all season and fully deserve to be where they are in the table. We are already looking forward to next season so Saturday (weather permitting) we will give it our best as always and look forward to next season!

Torquay & Kingskerswell (8th) v Hatherleigh (top)

Torquay & Kingskerswell (Harry Passenger): After a season full of ups and downs it will be nice to play against a strong team (weather dependant) in a game that should be enjoyable and a good laugh. Still focusing on picking up as many points as we can just to move further to safety.

Hatherleigh (Rob Cockwill): Gareth Tidball out this week, Ryan Quick back in after scoring his maiden ton for the 2nd XI last week.  It's been a great season for us, hopefully we can finish on high. Torquay are a good side with some dangerous players so we have to remain focused to get the points we need. Hopefully the weather can play ball and we can get a game in.

Kilmington (6th) v Thorverton (3rd)

Kilmington (Oli Reed): Team is the same as last week, which is actually the first time that's happened this year! We've had ups and downs throughout the season but the main aim was to consolidate our position in the A Division which we've achieved. Hoping to enjoy the last game against Thorverton which will be a good final test to wrap up the season. Looking forward to the social afterwards!

Thorverton (Jake Choules): All set for our annual last round away day. Full squad to pick from other than Harry Choules (honeymoon). Incomers include Andy Kingdon, Luke Vukusic and Sam Jefferson. We all know what is needed - we just need to make sure we play our part, with Kilmington no doubt having their own aims. Hopefully, the forecast changes as not knowing ‘what if’ would be a massively disappointing way for it to end after a great summer.Andy Kingdon – back for Thorverton against Kilmington

Plympton (9th) v Bridestowe & Belstone (7th)

Plympton (Harry Kandampully): Manny Motswiri has returned home so Shalok Gangatkar who has been in the 2nd XI' all year steps up. Otherwise same team as last week. Going to enjoy our last game and give some who haven't had many opportunities this year. the opportunity to bat and bowl.

Bridestowe & Belstone (Tallan Burns): Simon Gillespie, Tom Fogerty and Jack Hatton all return to the side. It's been a really up-and-down year, but proud of the lads for cementing the club another year in the A Division.

Cullompton (4th) v Bovey Tracey (5th)

Cullompton (Dan King): An unchanged line-up for the final game of the season. Hopefully the weather stays away. It's been a great season for us, with some stand-out performances along the way. Be even better to finish off well, and keep hold of fourth position.

Bovey Tracey (Seb Ansley): Last game of the season, hope to make amends for last week and finish on a high as a team. Hopefully a high-scoring game at a small ground if the rain stays away! Hammett, Jones and Russell out and R Stanley in with gloves plus Rob Pryke and Will Christophers.
