Secondary Schools Chance to Compete Finals 2022

During the sunny week starting 13th June, Devon Cricket held the final rounds of the Chance to Compete Secondary SchooL County Finals for both the mixed and girls teams in the under 13s and under 15s.

This year the pitch at Winslade Park was the host to all the competitions - it was the ideal location due to the size and ease of access for all the schools, as well as providing an excellent back drop for the cricket!

The competitions started on the Tuesday with the under 13 boys. Teams from Bideford College, Colyton Grammar, Okehampton College and St Peters Church of England School were welcomed. Each team played each other in the sunshine and the results were as follows:

1st place: Colyton Grammar                2nd place: Okehampton College                    3rd place: St Peter's

On Wednesday we welcomed a full compliment of under 13 girls teams. This year was the first time a seperate girl's competition had been run and the entries reflected the growth of girl's cricket across the county with 8 entries in the under 13s. The schools were put into pools of 4 and then the winners played to see who went through the the Chance to Compete Regional Finals at Taunton School.
