Harry Everett reports from the women’s Super 8s competition that was played in some degree across the county the first Sunday of May as sunshine was at times present, but some grounds still sodden from April’s record rainfall.

FEATURE GAME: North Devon vs Hatherleigh

In the central division, Exwick managed to bat for 5.1 overs against Bovey Tracey, but that was all the rain allowed, curtailing Megan Pascoe as she looked in full flow ripping through the Exwick top order. No batter had passed four as Libby Hancock bowled just one ball before the game was abandoned.

Bovey host Exmouth this coming Sunday in Division 2 action whilst Exwick do not currently compete in the regular league season of hardball in Division 1 or 2.

Cornwood, hosting Plympton and Stoke Gabriel for the triple header was called off in plenty of time so no one travelled and bonus bank holiday weekend time could be spent in the dry with family. So Stoke, still new to this competition, have not yet played in it.

Early league leaders Cornwood host Plymouth this Sunday 12th back in Division 1 action, a 12pm start.

Exeter tried a few different venues to try and get the game on, but the start was delayed and even then Winslade Park could not host that game sadly.

Exeter travel to Knightshayes for Sunday, May 12's action vs Heathcoat back in Division 2.
