Academy cricket at Sandford on Sunday when Devon take on Cornwall (11am)

THERE’S Academy cricket at Sandford tomorrow (Sunday) when Devon play their Cornwall counterparts in a 50-over game (11am).
When the two counties met at St Austell in early June the game went down to the last ball and ended in a one-wicket win for Devon.
Cornwall, who included Plymouth’s Matt Petherbridge in their side, made 219 for eight in their 50 overs.
James Horler and Sam Read, both of whom have graduated to the full Devon side, made 45 each on the chase and knocks of 20 from Lawrence Walker and 30 by Dylan Hurst got Devon down to the final over needing six to win. Tom Simmons (23no) stole a single off the last ball to pinch victory off Cornwall.
Horler, Read and Adam Small are all required for Devon’s three-day NCCA Championship game against Shropshire at Sidmouth, which starts tomorrow.
The Academy side is: Jack Moore, Isaac Windley (both North Devon), James Degg (Plymouth), Abraham Kopparambil (Bovey Tracey), Lawrence Walker (Sandford), Josh Farley (Bradninch), Jasper Presswell (Hatherleigh), Luke Medlock (Paignton), Charlie Barriball (Tavistock), Dylan Hurst (Sidmouth), Jack Ford (Bideford), Harry Passenger (Torquay).
