Devon Cricket Appoint Head of Communications

Devon Cricket is delighted to announce the appointment of Julen Beer Ayo as Head of Communications.
He joins us from Exeter College, where he project managed the Ofsted Outstanding college's marketing campaigns and annual alumni publication, as well as supporting communications activity through a variety of media. He is currently a Trustee of the Exeter City Supporters' Trust, where he leads the organisation's communication and engagement strategy.
Julen was identified as one of 'The Next 25' leaders in the sports industry by Kick It Out in 2018 and subsequently attained an MSc in International Sport Management from UCFB the following year.
Julen is no stranger to Devon Cricket, having previously held the role of Cricket Administrator during the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, remaining as one of only four members of staff to work through the lockdown period in 2020.
The role of Head of Communications will see Julen supporting Devon Cricket's internal and external communications strategy, writing and disseminating publicity material, and managing enquiries from the public and media.
On the appointment, Managing Director Matt Theedom said:
"For a long time now we have been keen to promote the work we (Devon Cricket) undertake on behalf of the cricket network here in Devon. This new role will help shine a light on the great things that happen off the field to support the growth of the game."
"We are delighted to have Julen back with us. As an organisation, we have been keen to promote the work we do to grow the game of cricket and make the sport accessible to all across the county. Julen's background in communications and experience within sport will help us realise this ambition in the long term."
Clubs are urged to send good news stories across to Julen for Devon Cricket to promote on 07944 330934 or via julen.beer@devoncricket.co.uk.
