Devon Women's Conference 2026

The Devon Cricket Foundation are hosting its first-ever Women's Conference on Sunday, 8 March 2026.
| Date | Date | Venue |
| Sunday, 8 March 2026 |
1pm - 5pm | West Exe School EX2 9JU |
The afternoon will be an opportunity for attendees to come together to prepare and network ahead of the 2026 season. Our special guests on the day will be International Rugby Referee, Holly Wood, Somerset Women Captain, Sophie Luff, and the only female Chair in the Tolchards Devon Cricket League, Tina England, who will take part in a panel-style Q&A.
The afternoon will also include a health, wellbeing and mindfulness session, aimed at helping deal with adversity and match preparation, self-defence training, and a coaching session with Sophie Luff.
The event will also mark both International Women's Day and 100 days until the start of the 2026 ICC Women's T20 World Cup.
Arrival is from 12:30pm, with key speakers at 1pm and sessions starting at 2pm. There will be tea, coffee and light refreshments available. The estimated finish time will be 4:30pm - 5pm
It is set to be a great opportunity for women to network ahead of the season and build their personal skills before the season starts. For players, coaches and volunteers aged 14 upwards, there is no better way to spend International Women's Day than by building the female cricket network and strengthening the game.

Sessions
All sessions are 50 minutes long, and the three sessions on offer include:
Coaching with Sophie Luff
Sophie will run a session with ideas for ensuring coaching sessions are productive, and everyone can be involved. She will touch on common themes and issues coaching in the women's game and how players might challenge these to make sure they get the best out of their own coaching sessions, both as coaches and as players.
Ronin Taijutsu Self-Defence Classes
Teaching out of Okehampton, this group regularly deliver free self-defence classes for women and girls in the area. Given that many women can often be alone at cricket clubs, locking up in either the centre of a town or the middle of the countryside, the session aims to give women striking and defence techniques that can be used.
The session is open to everyone aged 14 and upwards.
Wellbeing Session
Rachel for Yoga Strength and Stretch will deliver a 50-minute class focusing on relaxation and breathing, some yoga exercises that can be used as warm-up/down and post-match recovery, with extra yoga poses to help prevent/recover from common sports injuries and help to improve flexibility, strength, stamina, stability, posture and when to use them for the right purpose via the bio mechanics of movement and breath.
