BRIDESTOWE & Belstone were defeated by six wickets when they entertained Bideford in Division One.

The home side accumulated a 40-over score of 194 for eight. Shaquan Glasgow played a captain's innings, hitting 10 fours and two sixes in his score of 82. He shared a fourth-wicket partnership of 110 with Toby Gostling 43. Best of the chips-in were 18 extras.

Jack Ford, the Bideford captain, had the best figures (2-16) in a disciplined bowling attack. Marcus Bulled and Sandy Luxton took a couple each.

Bideford reached their target with nearly three overs to go and six wickets in hand.

Veteran opener James Ford led the chase with 57, helped along the way by South African signing Fawaaz Gallie (34). Once they were out it was left to Olly Hannam (35no) and Jack Ford (37no) to see their team home. Thirty-three extras helped the cause.

Bridestowe & Belstone’s Roy Page (2-14) had the best bowling figures of the day.

It was a case of blink and you missed it on the Kelsey ground, where visiting Newton Tracey beat Braunton by 10 wickets in match that lasted twenty-two and a half overs from start to early finish.

Things went wrong early for Braunton when Sam Reddick was run out with the score on six.

Connor Robson and Dhavalkumar Patel, Newton’s opening bowlers, then decimated the Braunton top order. Both took two wickets as the home side were reduced to 23 for five.

The last five wickets fell to Domi Moore in a devastating spell of 16 balls. He took five wickets for seven runs to dismiss Braunton for a total of 53.

Jobin Franklin (17) and Andy Norris (12) offered some resistance.

Newton openers Andy Hart (23no) and Shubham Subham (24no) needed fewer than seven overs to reach the target.
