This brief guide provides step-by-step instructions for updating key club information on Play-Cricket.com.

It is essential that clubs keep their details current to ensure smooth communication and operational efficiency.

In 2025, the Tolchards Devon Cricket League (DCL) and Devon Cricket Foundation (DCF) moved away from the ‘old affirmation’ process, replacing it with a reminder to clubs that they should ensure the Club Officials shown on the About Us page of their Play-Cricket site are current and up to date.

It is from Play-Cricket that the DCF and the DCL take the name and contact details of Club Officials, hence the importance of keeping that data current.

DCL Clubs should please ensure their Club Officials on the About Us Page of their Play-Cricket site are accurate and up to date by Tuesday, 31 March 2026All other Clubs must ensure their Play-Cricket site is up to date by Thursday, 30 April 2026.

The DCL Constitution & Administration clause 1.iv states that all DCL member clubs must maintain, and update, the details of the officials on their play-cricket.com website; and clause 1.v states that a failure to do so within 14 days of a change will incur a fine (currently £50).

The following guide is divided into three key sections: Officials, Team Captains, and Playing Facilities.

Required Officials to be Updated
Below is a list of the Club Officers the DCL routinely communicate with and would expect, as a minimum, to be correct and up to date by 31 March 2026:

1. Chair 6. Junior Co-ordinator
2. Hon. Secretary 7. Club Safeguarding Officer
3. Divisional Representative 8. Women & Girls Co-ordinator
4. Hon. Treasurer 9. Head Groundskeeper
5. Hon. Fixtures Secretary 10. Website Administrator

Please note there will be other Officer roles that the Devon Cricket Foundation require to be current and up to date, so please do ensure all other roles on your club's About Us pages are updated.

Officials can, if they feel it appropriate, set their contact email to be hidden from public viewing. The crucial thing is that an email address is included, to allow emails to be sent to the individual (regardless of whether it is hidden or viewable).

Regarding officer contact phone numbers, the DCL would prefer it if, as a minimum, the Hon. Secretary included a visible contact phone number; it would be desirable if both the Hon Fixtures Secretary and Head Groundsman included visible contact phone numbers.

Other officer roles should have a contact phone number entered, either hidden or visible (as preferred).
