Dynamos Cricket Launched at Local Roadshow

The Devon Cricket Board, with support of the ECB, launched the new Dynamos Cricket programme at the December roadshow at Fingle Glen Golf Hotel.

Dan Garbutt, the ECB regional youth participation executive, shared all the details of the new programme for 8-11 year olds which follows on from the highly successful entry level programme, All Stars Cricket. 

Similarly to All Stars, participants will sign up to a local centre online and then receive a minimum of 8 weeks of sessions, run by qualified activators. As part of the sign up they will also receive a personalised new balance t-shirt and be encouraged to download the Dynamos Cricket app. 

Following the main presentation clubs discussed how they could fit Dynamos into what they already offer for 8-11 year olds. Club and Community Coach, Jonny Varcoe, spoke about how it was going to be implemented at Plymouth CC as a community cricket offer and Womens and Girls Development Officer, Ann-Marie Presswell, explained how the programme could be used effectively to develop a girls section. 

Clubs were pleased to hear that they will have flexibility around the price point for Dynamos Cricket - £15 returns to the ECB per participant with centres charging whatever they like on top.  They also heard various options of how the programme can be run - as a summer holiday offer, a girls only offer, alongside current junior offers or as the single club offer for 8-11 year olds. 

As with All Stars, club will receive a kit bag with all the equipment needed to run the programme (providing 10 children have signed up), activator training and t-shirts, marketing and school support, and various other benefits such as £100 kickstart funding with crowdfunding company Spacehive. 

Clubs can now register to run both Dynamos and All Stars Cricket via the Clubspark system. If they have run an All Stars Cricket programme previously their details will already be saved on ClubSpark, and can be used for Dynamos Cricket registration.
