Greenway and George Make England Deaf T20 World Cup Squad

Exmouth CC's George Greenway will lead the England Men’s Deaf team to Qatar in December as they seek to win the Deaf T20 World Cup.

Greenway will skipper a group of 15 that includes Paignton CC and 2014 England Disability Cricketer of the Year, Stephen George.

"I am really looking forward to the World Cup.
It will be a great experience for all."

England last took part in the tournament in 2016, ending runners-up after losing to Pakistan in the final in Dubai.

Both Greenway and George were part of the England Men's Deaf squad that won their maiden Ashes series in Australia last year.

Greenway said: "I am really looking forward to the World Cup. After having such a successful summer with the Disability Premier League and a great Ashes tour last year, we are looking forward to testing ourselves against the best players from around the world. It will be a great experience for all."

Success at last year's Ashes also resulted in Greenway finishing second in the Deaf Sports Personality of the Year.

The tournament is scheduled to begin on December 3, with the final is set to take place on December 12.
