Blights Motors North Devon League round-up: Baglivi and Johns put skids under Nomansland

NOMANSLAND lost at Hatherleigh by a sizeable margin of 115 runs in one of two games played in the latest round of matches in the Blights Motors North Devon League.

Eighteen overs in the game was evenly poised with Hatherleigh 96 for five. Zac Spears (49) and Kirt Forgham had put on 50 for the fourth wicket. Harry Everett, who took a ton off NORTH Devon

Jim Sibcy (54) and Shreyansh Ghosh (57) followed-up with a sixth-wicket stand of 99 that helped Hatherleigh to a 40-over total of 254 for eight.

Harry Cracknell (2-29) and Jacob Cole (2-67) took a couple of wickets each for Nomansland.

Nomansland’s reply was stopped in its tracks as John Baglivi took four for 47 to reduce the visitors to 45 for five. 

Cracknell (26) led the early resistance. Elliot Cole’s robust 50 helped the Nomansland to an all-out total of 139. Owen Johns mopped-up the tail with a three-for-22 haul.

Heathcoat overpowered North Devon by nine wickets in the Sandhills at Instow.

North Devon, who chose to bat, were indebted to Jack Moore (73) and Roshan Lakmal (62) for their contributions in a 40-over total of 192 for seven. Extras (30) were next-highest score.

South African Noah Musikanth (4-38) was the pick of the seven bowlers used by Heathcoat.

Heathcoat got the runs in a hurry! Harry Everett faced 76 balls for his 102 not out. Fellow opener Jeremy Bedford hit 65 off 48 balls as the visitors won with 17 overs in hand.

The Division Two game between Victoria Park and Braunton Kelseymen was postponed. It will be played later in the season.
