The cricket season is well underway for a number of our County Age Group sides, with May proving a productive month for batters as three players recorded centuries for Devon.

Under 13 Boys
Gloucestershire vs Devon Under 13 Boys

Devon Under 13 Boys put up a determined effort against Gloucestershire in a high-scoring friendly at Westbury Fields. Opting to field first, Devon faced a challenging total of 236-9, with Gloucestershire's Charlie Newton (58) and Tobias Vamplew (35*) leading a late surge. Zach Hill (4-43) and Aayush Dhayal (2-43) were the pick of Devon’s bowlers, striking at key moments.
In reply, Devon battled hard but struggled early at 17-3. A resilient 50-run stand between Noah Brimacombe (22) and Owen Williams (16) steadied the innings, while Evan Burke (50*) and Dhayal (30) added late resistance. However, tight bowling from Gloucestershire, led by Tobias Vamplew (2-23) and Nazrat Ahmadzai (1-24), restricted Devon to 156-6.
Gloucestershire beat Devon Under 13 Boys by 80 runs.
Wiltshire vs Devon Under 13 Boys

Devon Under 13 Boys faced a challenging encounter against Wiltshire at Purton CC, ultimately falling short in their pursuit of a formidable 313-run target. Wiltshire's innings was anchored by a commanding 123 from Wilfred Makin, supported by Nate Pari's unbeaten 52, as they posted 312-6. Devon's bowlers showed moments of promise, with Musa Kaleem (2-45) and Stephen Skews (2-49) claiming key wickets.
In reply, Devon battled through difficult conditions, with Joshua Holmes top-scoring with a resilient 40 and Aayush Dhayal contributing 25. Mitchell Reeve's 4-15 proved decisive for Wiltshire, but Devon's lower order showed determination until the final wicket fell on 149.

Devon Under 14 Boys vs Wiltshire

ECB U14 County Cup - Group 3
Devon Under 14 Boys narrowly missed their target in a thrilling run-chase against Wiltshire at Ipplepen CC, falling just 12 runs short of the visitors' 300-8. Wiltshire's total was built around half-centuries from Tommy Pearson (64) and Ivo Leyland (66), with Devon's Luan Matthews De Menezes (3-34) and Henry Alsop (2-47) the pick of the bowlers.
In reply, Devon's innings was powered by a superb century from Stanley Baker (100 off 73 balls, including 9 fours and 4 sixes), supported by Brendan Coles' 74 and Miles Olczak's 41. Despite late contributions, Devon finished on 288-9, with Max Edmund (3-35) and Barney Nickell (2-26) bowling crucial spells for Wiltshire.
Wiltshire beat Devon Under 14 Boys by 12 runs.
Somerset vs Devon Under 14 Boys

In the first of two friendlies on the day, the Under 14 Boys lost to Somerset 8 wickets. Batting first, Devon posted 116-8 with Ethan Hancock top-scoring with a patient 43 from 49 balls, supported by Barney Cronkshaw's 21.
Somerset reached the target in 18.1 overs despite disciplined bowling from Lucas Bell (1-19) and Miles Olczak (1-29).
Somerset beat Devon Under 14 Boys by 8 wickets.
Cornwall vs Devon Under 14 Boys

In the second friendly of the day, Devon endured a challenging outing against Cornwall, falling short by 61 runs. Cornwall posted 146-5, with Hayden Coad's explosive 71 (44 balls) proving the difference, though Devon's bowlers showed discipline: Luan Matthews De Menezes (2-22) and Ethan Hancock (1-13) proving particularly economical.
In reply, Devon's innings never gained momentum, though Stanley Baker (22) and Austin Wells (20) showed resistance, while Oliver Dobrijevic's unbeaten 17 offered late promise.
Cornwall beat Devon Under 14 Boys by 61 runs.
Under 15 Girls
Devon Under 15 Girls vs Gloucestershire

Girls U15 County One Day - Group 9
Devon Under 15 Girls secured a comprehensive 128-run victory over Gloucestershire in their opening One Day fixture. Electing to bat, Devon posted an imposing 260-8, anchored by captain Grace Golsworthy's superb unbeaten 115 (75 balls, 17 fours) and supported by Madeleine Russell's brisk 53 (37 balls). The innings featured valuable contributions throughout, with Megan Zieleniewicz (10*) adding late impetus.
In reply, Gloucestershire were restricted to 132 all out in 30.5 overs, with Devon's bowlers sharing the wickets. Arabella Greenwood (2-19) and Libby Carroll (2-33) made early inroads, while Ellie White (1-6) and Abigail Drake (1-17) maintained pressure.

Dorset vs Devon Under 15 Boys

Devon's Under 15 Boys fell to a 70-run defeat against Dorset in a hard-fought friendly at Hamworthy Club. Despite a strong start from openers Jasper Bubb (34) and Alex Tipper (31), Devon's chase of 237 faltered as Finn Gardner (3-28) and Toby Evans (4-25) ripped through the middle order.
Earlier, Dorset's Ollie Frost (83) and Cameron Basey (40) had propelled their side to 236, with Freddie Tucker (3-11) and Henry Alsop (2-24) the pick of Devon's bowlers.
Dorset beat Devon Under 15 Boys by 70 runs.
Devon Under 15 Boys vs Wiltshire

Devon Under 15 Boys put up a spirited fight but ultimately fell short against Wiltshire in a competitive friendly at Topsham. Electing to bat first, Devon posted 169, with Albie Bradley (50) and Connor Trott (40) anchoring the innings with a solid 74-run partnership. Max Cordle (3-28) and Daniyal Anwar (3-24) struck at key moments to restrict Devon's total.
In reply, Wiltshire’s William Miller (81) led a composed chase, supported by Max Cordle (31) and Gabriel Williams (30). Zac Salter (2-39) and Muhammad Kaleem (1-20) bowled with discipline, but Wiltshire reached the target with ease, finishing on 172-4 in 32 overs.

Glamorgan vs Devon Under 15 Boys

Devon Under 15 Boys produced a dominant display at Newport Fugitives, securing a commanding 206-run victory over Glamorgan. Electing to bat, Devon posted an imposing 359-5, built around Alex Tipper's spectacular 194 (93 balls, 12 fours, 19 sixes). Leo Raichura (39) provided solid support in a 150-run stand, while Noah Tovell (34) and Alex Roper (18) added late impetus.
In reply, Glamorgan were bowled out for 153 in 24 overs, with Archie Hall (4-27) and Noah Tovell (2-18) the pick of Devon's attack.

Devon Under 18 Girls vs Somerset

Girls U18 County One Day KO Cup - Round 1
Devon Under 18 Girls suffered defeat in their ECB County Cup match against Somerset at Abbotskerswell CC. After electing to field, Devon restricted Somerset to 218-5 from their 50 overs, with Olivia Woollam (2-36) and Darcey Boote (1-39) bowling economically.
In reply, Devon's chase never gained momentum against Somerset's disciplined attack, with Ella Gill's 25 the top score. Poppy Hawker (3-17) and Anu Balasubramaniam (3-7) proved particularly effective as Devon were dismissed for 93 in 29.1 overs.
Somerset beat Devon Under 18 Girls by 125 runs.
Buckinghamshire vs Devon Under 18 Girls

Girls U18 County T20 - Group 3
Devon Under 18 Girls fell short in the first of their T20 double-header against Buckinghamshire at Chearsley CC. After electing to field, Devon restricted Bucks to 129-6, with Lucie Carwardine (2-15) and Sophie Brandom (1-10) leading a disciplined bowling performance. Madeleine Russell (1-23) and Maggie Haffenden (1-22) also contributed to keeping the hosts in check.
The chase saw Madeleine Russell (18) and Jessica Rose (14) show resistance, but Devon were bowled out for 91 in 18.4 overs.
Buckinghamshire beat Devon Under 18 Girls by 38 runs.

In the second game of the day, Devon produced a spirited bowling performance but couldn't chase down Bucks' total. After restricting the hosts to 128-9 through Sophie Brandom's excellent 4-24 and Lucie Carwardine's 2-16, Devon's reply faltered, with only Jessica Rose (28) and Elle Golsworthy (11) reaching double figures.
Buckinghamshire beat Devon Under 18 Girls by 45 runs.

Devon Under 18 Boys vs Isle of Wight

Devon Under 18 Boys cruised to a comfortable 9-wicket victory in their first of two fixtures against the Isle of Wight at Torquay & Kingskerswell CC. Restricting the visitors to 75 all out in 18.3 overs, Devon's bowlers shared the spoils with Toby Hard (3-9) and Josh Thompson (2-14) leading the attack.
The chase was clinical as opener Josh Thompson dominated with an unbeaten 60 off just 37 balls (8 fours, 2 sixes), with Devon reaching the target in just 9.2 overs. Matthew Matravers (8*) provided support after Charlie Gaywood's early dismissal.

Devon Under 18 Boys vs Isle of Wight

In the second at Torquay & Kingskerswell CC, Devon U18 Boys secured a comfortable 124-run win. Batting first, Devon posted 230-2, powered by an unbroken 189-run stand between Matthew Matravers (71* off 46) and skipper Noah Musikanth (95* off 49), with Musikanth smashing 14 fours and 3 sixes in a brutal display.
The Isle of Wight managed 106-2, with only J Carpenter (39*) offering resistance. Charlie Gaywood (1-29) and Matt Whalley (1-23) struck for Devon, who sealed a dominant second win.
Devon Under 18 Boys beat Isle of Wight by 124 runs.
Devon Under 18 Boys vs Somerset

In their final game of the month, the Under 18 Boys secured an impressive 53-run victory over Somerset in a high-scoring encounter at Exmouth CC. After electing to bat, Devon posted a formidable 357-8, with Joe Hopkins (95) and Charlie Gaywood (62) laying the foundation through a 169-run opening stand. Alex Tipper (70 off 41 balls) and Matt Whalley (64 off 43) then provided explosive late-order hitting.
In reply, Somerset fought hard through Ben Mason's 71 and Toby Stoddard's 36, but Devon's bowlers maintained control, Elijah Pyne (3-31) and Luke Thomas (2-41) making key breakthroughs.
Devon Under 18 Boys beat Somerset by 53 runs.
