Blights Motors NDL round-up: Salter shakes-up Hatherleigh with five-wicket haul | Heathcoat still unbeaten at top of Division One

LEADERS Heathcoat maintained their 100 per cent record at the top of Division One in the Blights Motors North Devon League with a seven-wicket victory over visitors Hatherleigh.
Hatherleigh, who lost the toss and batted, got off to a brisk start, as openers Kirt Forgham (25) and Dan Forrester (76) put on 105 for the first wicket. A devastating collapse followed as they lost 10 wickets for 45 runs on the way to 150 all out
Chris Salter (5-30) did the damage with the ball. He was backed up by James Pugsley (3-23) and Daniel Harrison who took two none off four balls and will be on hat-trick next time skipper Salter asks him to turn his arm over.
Heathcoat reached their target in just under 21 overs. Jeremy Bedford led the chase, hitting 61 off 27 balls. Will Hall-Tompkins hit a more sedate 37 and there was 22 from Adam Simpson, and 21 not out from Richard Pugsley
Shreyansh Ghosh took a couple of wickets for Hatherleigh.
Westleigh defeated North Devon by two wickets in the Instow derby at Merchants Park. North Devon's young side racked-up a challenging total of 268 for nine in their 40 overs with runs through the card.
Roshan Lakmal top scored with 76. Saturday skipper Jack Moore hit 52 off just 17 balls
Will Speed took three for 32, and former Barnstaple & Pilton starlet Ian Wheatley claimed three for 52.Skipper Richard Pearson led the Westleigh reply with an unbeaten 91. He shared a partnership of 149 for the sixth wicket with Tom Poole (87) as Westleigh reached their target with a couple of overs in hand. Oscar Meach (3-48) was the pick of the North Devon bowlers.
Victoria Park edged a tight Division Two encounter with Newton Tracey by one wicket.
Dominic Robson top scored with 61 for Newton, who were all out for 150. Brother Connor was next best on 31.
Ian Brown (4-18) took the bowling honours for Viccy Park. Dave Branch and Mark Slade took two wickets each.
There were more extras (42) than any individual scored as Victoria Park whittled away the deficit.
Jack Ancill and Will Anderson both made 27s, Mitchell Power chipped in with 22, but it was left to last man Brown to hit a boundary to win the match.
Play-cricket records that Newton Tracey’s Dom Robson took three for 31; Domi Moore had two for 32 and Oliver Symons took two for 13.
Second-placed Holsworthy overcame bottom side Braunton by 61 runs after racking-up 194 for six,
Second-wicket pair Jack Greening (81) and Daniel Lucas (25) led the way for the home side. Sam Staceyadded 24.
Justin Vincent (4-48) was Braunton’s most successful bowler. Jerrin James (5-1-8-0) offered nothing to hit.
The Braunton chase faltered against tight Holsworthy bowling. Liam Brend took six for 27 and Ryan Seymour-Smith three for 21. Top scorer was 43 extras. Andy Parsons contributed 21.
Lynton & Lynmouth defeated leaders Exford by 13 runs in the all-Exmoor affair at the Valley of the Rocks.
It was Exford’s first league defeat of the season, but not enough to topple them from pole position.
Dan Godfrey hit 17 fours and five sixes compiling 148 for L&L in a 40-over total of 273 for six. Along the way there were stands of 96 with Vishnu Kombath (33) and 96 more with Tristan Jones (44).
Jonah Hopkins (91) and Oli Ahern (65) made a chase of it when Exford batted, but they came up short on 260 for eight.
