Devon Women Match Preview: Hertfordshire (A)

Devon Women go into their final Vitality Blast! Women's League Three double-header against Hertfordshire looking to qualify for Finals Day.
Victory in both games will put Devon Women in a strong position to finish top of Division 1 South, but they will be relying on results in the double-header between Wiltshire and Berkshire at Marlborough College. Just two points separate Berkshire, Wiltshire and Devon at the top of the league.

David Joseph's Thoughts
"We're looking forward to the final group games on Sunday.
"The group is tight, so we'll look to be really positive in both games and finish the group matches really strongly."
Captain's Thoughts
"We go into the last weekend of the group stages in the Vitality Blast! with our eyes set on finals day.
"We have a lot of talent and depth to our squad, so if we back and execute our plans, we will play two very good games of cricket."
Ella Gill's Thoughts
"After a week off, we are looking forward to continuing our T20 campaign away against Hertfordshire.
"These matches act as a great platform for us to execute and showcase our skills as a team, whilst allowing us to play with a sense of freedom, which definitely creates a good energy amongst the team.
"Playing the same team twice in this format is never easy, and it can be especially difficult to replicate the same energy levels and intensity throughout the day. However, I think that our previous results this season are proof that, as a team, we are willing to embrace the challenges of any game.
"We will continue to back our skills in the hope that we can continue our good run of form this season."

Devon Women dominated Hertfordshire in a commanding 191-run victory, posting an imposing 317-7 after electing to bat. Skipper Georgia Hennessy led the charge with an explosive 97* off just 61 balls, including 12 fours and two sixes, while Sophie Florides anchored the innings with a patient 72.
Hertfordshire's reply never gained momentum, despite Kezia Hassall’s defiant 56, as Hennessy (3-14) and Olivia Churcher (3-14) dismantled the batting order. Devon's disciplined bowling and sharp fielding ensured Hertfordshire folded for 126 in 40.2 overs, capping a comprehensive performance.
