Tons for Pugsley and Holley in runaway win for Heathcoat | 'If anyone deserves the plaudits it has to be Bideford who fulfilled the fixture with an inexperienced side'

HEATHCOAT preserved their 100 per cent record in Division One of the Blights Motors North Devon League with a 289-run win over Bideford.

But if anyone deserves the plaudits it has to be Bideford who fulfilled the fixture with an inexperienced side while contesting the North Devon Twenty20 finals day with another team on their own ground at Westward Ho!

Keith Berry, the Bideford skipper won the toss, and took the honourable decision to field first.

Heathcoat, however, showed no mercy, and racked-up a massive 426 for the loss of five wickets. Thomas Holley hit 150, Richard Pugsley cashed in with 101. The next highest was the 60 extras conceded.

Bideford tried nine bowlers, Berry (3-53) was the most successful of bowlers who had a go.

Bideford made their opponents work for the win, but finally capitulated in the 34th over on 129. Damon Berry top scored with 39.

There were three wickets for Max Ahern and a couple each for Daniel Harrison and Jack McManus.

Bridestowe & Belstone defeated visiting Nomansland by six wickets.

Nomansland racked-up 275 for six in their 40 overs. Xavier Warmbrunn top scored with 105. He faced 68 balls and hit 16 fours and one six. There was support from Henry field (42) and Greg Cole (47) as well as 37 extras.

Joseph Woolnough (2-40) and Sreenanth Sunandan (2-52) took a couple of wickets each for B&B

Bridestowe & Belstone reached their target with 11 balls to spare. Shaquan Glasgow hit 47, then Tallan Burns (56) and Leon Horn (105) took B&B to the brink. Horn faced 68 balls, and he hit 80 in boundaries, 

Matt Dennis saw the home side to victory with 28 not out. Jacob Cole took a couple of wickets for Nomansland 

Holsworthy defeated visiting Newton Tracey by two wickets at Stanhope Park.

Newton, who lost the toss and batted first, scored an all-out total of 187

Rumitkumar Patel top scored with 55 and featured in a last-wicket stand of 44 with Domi Moore, who contributed nought not-out Next best were 34 extras. 

Skipper Ryan Seymour-Smith (4-26) was the pick of Holsworthy’s bowlers.

Openers Liam Brend (58) and Scott Hayler (36) put on 85 before Newton fought back to reduce Holsworthy to 121 for six.

Seymour-Smith scored 31 to take his team close to victory. Tony Johny saw them home with 13 not out

Billy Symons (2-21) and Dhavalkumar Patel (2-20) were the best of the Newton bowlers.

Exford conceded their game at Braunton

Victoria Park against Lynton & Lynmouth was cancelled as Westward Ho! was being used for the North Devon T20 finals day.
