Tolchards DWCL 2025 Round Up | Week 10

With the season drawing to a close, the pressure is on. Every run, wicket, and catch could be the difference in the race for the top spots.
Division One
Paignton welcomed North Devon to Torre Valley North, winning the toss and electing to field first. Opener Megan Snape got North Devon off to a winning start, hitting a half century (51) before getting bowled by Katie Harman. Annie Townsend (38), Rose Ball (24), and Kate Williams (30*) carried their team to finish on a score of 206 for 8. Paignton's Katie Harman and Ella Gill were standout with the ball, each taking 3 wickets. E Gill’s 74 runs started the run chase well for Paignton, with support from Hollie Perkin (40) and L Perkin (18). But North Devon’s bowling attack proved too much, with Milly Squire taking 4 wickets to seal a 30-run win.
Exeter hosted Cornwood, winning the toss and choosing to bat first. Exeter posted a score of 238 runs, led by a quick fire 116* from Jessica Breban, including 19 fours. Imogen Daldorph added 44, and Georgia Read chipped in with 24 to round out a dominant batting display. Opener Gemma Lancaster (30) and Helly Simpson (23) started well for Cornwood, however, after falling for the bowling of Olivia Woollam (7-3-14-4) and Imogen Daldorph (7-1-17-1), the team struggled to gain momentum again. In the end, Cornwood came up 133 runs short.
Division Two
Plympton travelled to Hatherleigh, winning the toss and elected to field first. Hatherleigh struggled to build any partnerships, with Chloe Rose and Mia Spears top scoring with 12 runs each, ending their innings 64 all out. Bella Greenwood and Darcey Boote stunned with the ball, taking 3 wickets each.
In reply, Plympton faced some pressure, losing 4 wickets, 3 belonging to Hester Presswell, but a composed partnership between Bella and Charlotte Greenwood saw them over the line in 9 overs. Plympton now sit unbeaten at the top, with two games in hand.
Exmouth hosted Exeter, losing the toss, they were put into field first. A quick century from Rosie Grist (128), supported by Roxy Buckley (35) and Thea Rochester (24), saw Exeter finish their innings on 229 for 4. Exmouth came out batting hard, Sasha Gerrick hit a quick-fire 91 runs until falling to the bowling of Rosie Grist. Sharon Dawkins (42) and Jasmyne Watson (28*) finished off the job, chasing down the score in just 24 overs.
Division Three
Chagford travelled to Exmouth and, after winning the toss, chose to bat first. Despite an early wicket, Lily Sargent (54) and Grace Lewis (60) built a strong 114-run partnership before both falling to the bowling of Karen Riley. Maisie Barr (19*) and Arabella Taylor (28*) added the finishing touches, helping Chagford reach 196 for 3.
Exmouth struggled to find momentum in reply. Tory Bloom top-scored with 22 before being dismissed hit wicket, while Sarah Antonio (20) and Karen Riley (10) added runs. However, it wasn’t enough, as Exmouth fell 85 runs short.
Holsworthy were unable to field a side, handing Clyst St George a win by concession. The 20 points saw Clyst climb to the top of the table, now 35 points clear of second place.
Next week, the 35-over continues as teams battle it out for the top spot.
