Bideford batter James Ford – laid the foundations for a win over Nomansland

BRIDESTOWE & Belstone kept up their pursuit of Blights Motors NDL Division One leaders Heathcoat of the by beating visitors Hatherleigh by three wickets.

Hatherleigh amassed a 40-over total of 237 for eight after skipper Adam Quick chose to bat first.

Charlie Presswell top scored for Hatherleigh with 81. There was support from Shrey Ghosh (40) and chip-ins from Henry D'alberti-Nicholson (24) and Zac Spears (22). Quick hit a rapid 21 at the end of the innings, 32 extras helped the cause.

There were a couple of wickets each for Harry Bushin, Will Bancroft and Shaquan Glasgow among the seven bowlers used by Bridestowe & Belstone.

Callum Mallett (28) and James Ewen 23 and Tallan Burns (29no) saw Bridestowe & Belstone home and a revenge win for the previous day’s defeat by the same opposition in a Tolchards DCL game.

Bideford defeated Nomansland by five wickets at Westward Ho! Nomansland batted first, and their innings was all over in 24 entertaining overs! 

Opener Elliott Butterfield, fresh from scoring 179 not out 24 hours earlier for Sandford 3rd XI against Torquay & Kingskerswell 3rd XI, top scored with 63.

William White and Xavier Warmbrunn both scored 24 as Nomansland rattled along to 192 all out in just 24 overs. Oliver Keates (5-24) took the bowling honours for Bideford.

Veteran opener James Ford pointed Bideford in the right direction with 55. Luka Metu was 56 not out when the winning runs were scored.

Newton Tracey tightened their grip on the top spot in Division Two with a 40-run victory at Barnstaple & Pilton.Matt Newton – three wickets for B&P against NEWTON Tracey

Dhavalkumar Patel got the Newton Tracey innings off to a good start, hitting 77 of 55 balls before becoming one of Matt Newton's three victims.

Skipper Dominic Robson (58no) kept up the good work and there was 32 from Sumit Ghanges to see Newton to 239 for seven. B&P spinner Tony Gilbert (3-36) continued his good form.

Tight bowling from Newton put pressure on B&P when they batted. Ali Poll anchored the inning with 38. Although Dom Chugg (32) and Matt Newton (22) helped the cause, they were always behind the rate. 

Febin Francis hit 29 not out at the end to help his side to 199 for nine. Ghanges and Shane Andrew both took a couple of wickets for Newton.

Braunton beat Victoria Park by 22 runs at the Kelsey Ground

Braunton were all out for 293 in the last over. John Franklin hit 82 and Paul Derbyshire 74, Poly Balendran chipped in with 38 and Leo Pleasence got 26.

Rob Boundy (5-43) took the bowling honours for Viccy Park. Adrian Scarrett took three for 78

The Park chase was led by Jack Sargent, who hit 92 off 78 balls. He put on 120 for the second wicket with Lee Merrick 40. Both featured in the five-for-48 bowling return that confirmed Derbyshire’s man-of-the-match status.

Evan Suggate hit 40 not out, but was left stranded as Viccy Park were all out for 271

Exford conceded their home game against Lynton & Lynmouth.
