Caitlin Dawson Joins as Competitions Officer

The Devon Cricket Foundation is delighted to announce the appointment of Caitlin Dawson as Competitions Officer.

The role will see Caitlin focus on increasing opportunities for children to play and compete in the club and school setting. A significant part of the role will be to organise and run competitions for Under 8s to Under 19s.

Caitlin's background is in secondary education, specialising in teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, and first got involved in cricket when she joined Exwick CC's women's softball team over the winter, going on to win Batter and Player of the Year as her side finished third in the league.

On joining the Foundation, Caitlin said:

"I am really looking forward to starting with the Devon Cricket Foundation, working with schools and clubs to ensure the smooth running of competitions across the county. This role is a great opportunity to drive cricket forward in Devon, and encourage more young people to get involved with the game by offering numerous chances to compete.

"I've always been passionate about young people's engagement with their communities, and particularly believe in ensuring that through sport, diverse and under-represented children should be given the opportunity to participate and compete at all levels."

Speaking on the appointment, Operations Executive, Scott Chappell, said:

"The Competitions Officer role is a vital one for us to enable young cricketers in clubs and schools across Devon to access opportunities to play the game and have a great experience.

"Caitlin brings with her a number of key skills that will enable her to excel in the role and ensure junior cricket thrives in the county. It is great to have her on board."
