Chris Brown Appointed Disability Cricket Officer

The Devon Cricket Foundation has appointed Chris Brown as its new Disability Cricket Officer.
Following a restructure of our Community team, Chris leaves his role as East Devon Community Cricket Coach and will now be responsible for the coordination, growth, and delivery of disability and inclusive cricket programmes across Devon.
Chris joined the Foundation in September 2024 and, in his new role, will be working closely with clubs, schools, community groups, and external partners and funders to embed inclusive practice and increase engagement across all disability cricket pathways.
Niall Leahy has moved across from his role as South Devon Community Cricket Coach to replace Chris in East Devon.

Speaking on his new role at the Foundation, Chris Brown said:
"I am delighted to be taking on the role and cannot wait to get started. The benefit which cricket provides both socially and physically is huge, and I want to allow as many people as possible access to the game we all love.
"I am a firm believer in sport being for all and cricket is an excellent example of this; whether it's hardball cricket, softball, table cricket or Visually Impaired cricket, I want to ensure both children and adults can access the sport in whichever way suits them best.
"In my past role I was lucky enough to see the difference that our Super 1s programme makes on both participants and carers, and I encourage those who might be unsure to give it a go and they will not regret it."

Speaking on the appointment, Operations Executive, Scott Chappell, said:
"It is great to have Chris progress into this new and exciting role.
"Our aim at the Devon Cricket Foundation is to make cricket accessible to all, and Chris will be developing sustainable opportunities for people with disabilities to engage in the game."
