B Division briefing – week eight: Kandampully pinpoints Stoke's 'multiple match winners' | Ashburton add experience to team sheet

B DIVISION BRIEFING

STOKE GABRIEL v PLYMPTON

Stoke Gabriel (Jack Tolley): Looking to keep pushing towards the top of the league. A few changes this week with much better availability. Withington, Smith and Culver come in for Cogger, Horsborough and Le Riche. We haven’t played Plympton in a long time but know it will be a challenge, one that we are up for! Ready for a tough match but this is what we play for. 

Plympton (Harry Kandampully): Three players back this weekend. Rahul Randev, Sam Ford and Jamie Bailey. Tobin Barker and Alex Carr unavailable. Luke Oxenham drops down after helping us out for the weekend. Expecting a very tough fixture this weekend against a team we don't know much about but clearly have multiple match winners. Looking forward to the challenge. 

ASHBURTON v PLYMSTOCK

Ashburton (Lloyd White): Charlie Towers returns from university so comes straight back in. Steve Edmonds, Will Coon and Marcus West also come into the side to add experience and depth to our batting and bowling options. A few crunch matches coming up and the lads are putting in the extra work to ensure we hit the ground running.

Plymstock (Tom Mitch): Myself and Robbie back in. Been far from our best as a team for a few weeks. Still a long way in this season to get ourselves back up the table but performances need to be better on the pitch 

BOVEY TRACEY II v BRAUNTON

Bovey Tracey (Dan Green): We need to continue doing what we do with the ball, but our batting needs to be more consistent. A few changes: Jamie Bishop and Ed Foreman out. Will Patterson and Ryan Bougourd back in.

Braunton (Sam Reddick): A number of changes this week due to unavailability. Charlie Tucker, Jason Raynor and myself come into the side. Along with Herbie Townsend to make his 1st XI debut. Everyone has been working hard this week and we are determined to bounce back with a win. Again, we look to our top order to improve and match our bowling and fielding standards.

CLYST St GEORGE v BARTON

Clyst St George (Par Singh): Availability this week is better! Andrew Donovan comes straight back into the team, as do Ollie Manning, Andrew Taylor and a first team debut for Kasey Elliot after some great performances in our 2nd XI. We know exactly what we have to do from now to the end of the season. Win regularly and hopefully that starts this Saturday. Barton have been good this season and looking forward to having them at Bohea. Should be a good, competitive game.

Barton (Steve Lewis): Tom Drake and Adam Last back in so batting order looks deeper! Harry Shelton away and Chris Stubbs goes to bolster the twos. Just want us to play the context of the game better especially with the bat. Us batsman owe our bowlers a better effort. Time to click as a whole unit. 

SEATON v BIDEFORD

Seaton (Tim Doulton): Sam Goodier leads the side this week with myself absent. James Doulton is also unavailable and therefore we bring in Kersley Sutton and Digby Wheeler again. Tristan Wakeley is also back from injury, which is good news. We anticipate a challenge in Bideford, but this provides another opportunity to show the division what we can do. Best of luck to Sam and the boys. 

Bideford (Jack Ford): All-rounder Julian Hayter back in for his first game of the season for us. He’s been playing for Bishopston CC in Bristol whilst at university but glad to have him back around now. Looking forward to this weekend after our good win over Barton. We don’t know huge amounts about Seaton as we haven’t played them for a long time, but looks like they’re absolutely flying at the moment so expecting another very tough fixture.
