B Division Briefing – week nine

Plympton (4th) v Seaton (top)

Plympton (Harry Kandampully): Two changes: Rahul and Harnoop out. Tom Blay and Tobin Barker back in. Seaton have been the divisional leaders for most of season. So we know how tough this fixture will be. We need to have a complete performance to get the result. 

Seaton (Tim Doulton):  My brother James and I are back in this week for the trip to Plympton. Tristan Wakeley is in the 2nd XI in order to manage his injury. We’ve got a couple of illnesses in the squad at the minute, so our final line-up isn’t confirmed yet. That said, the boys are fully focused on bouncing back from last week’s defeat, especially as we know Plympton will provide a tough challenge.

Plymstock (6th) v Clyst St George (8th)

Plymstock (Tom Mitch): Billy Gibson and Archie Hall come back in. Great weekend for the boys last week, plenty of positives and confidence to build on as we approach the turn. Looking forward to be being back home against a team with plenty of quality, the boys are ready to go and hopefully we come out on top! 

Clyst SG (Par Singh): A few unavailable this week. Owain Saville has returned home for the rest of the season!  Inder Singh, Ollie Manning, and Andrew Taylor are unavailable this week. In come Dan Kendall, Charlie Taylor, Steven King and Freddie Creer. Plymstock are in good form! And we always have good contests with them. Definitely looking forward to a good, competitive game.

Braunton (9th) v Ashburton (10th)

Braunton (Sam Reddick): Sam Bithell, James Kemp and Callum Mitchell all return for what is our more most important game of the season so far. To get a win at the turn would be huge for us going into the second half of the season. We know where we need to improve and it simply has to start now. We have played some excellent cricket at times this season, the lads are determined to put in a complete performance this week. Sam Bithell

Ashburton (Lloyd White): Ash Berry, Harry Bannister, George Yabsley and Matt Churchill all return, giving us the strength and depth we need for what looks to be a very important fixture. All the lads have been putting in the hard yards to ensure we are ready and we are thoroughly looking forward to it. 

Bideford (3rd) v Bovey Tracey II (5th)

Bideford (Jack Ford): James Hayter, Tom Brend, Elliot Currie and Steve Bond back into the side. Probably the closest we’ve been this season to full strength yet this season. It is vice- presidents’ day at the club, so hopefully the nice weather stays and there’s a decent crowd in to watch what should be an entertaining day of cricket! 

Bovey Tracey (Dan Green): Lots of changes so still unsure on XI. Myself and Ben Steer both away. Pete Bradley will captain.

Barton (7th) v Stoke Gabriel (2nd)

Barton (Steve Lewis): I’m out away for the weekend so Nick captains in my absence again. Adam Last got a hamstring injury so is out. In comes Sree and Harry Shelton. Going to be a very tough fixture but the lads will be up for it and will look to put things right. 

Stoke Gabriel (Jack Tolley): Two changes. Adriaan Maxwell has a family event so misses out, Kai Hosburgh also drops into the seconds. Jake Robinson is still recovering from his holiday but plays, as does Mike Smith who was umpiring last Saturday. We know what to expect from Barton and know if we play our best cricket we can take another 20 points! Great to see (century maker) Abhi Anand go big last weekend. Hopefully someone can do that again this Saturday.
