Rival captains offer their thoughts on the B Division game between Ashburton and Bovey Tracey 2nd XI
“It was an incredible win against our near neighbours on their own patch. At 43 for five, and then 109 for nine, we were staring down the barrel.
“Credit has to go to Charlie Trowel and Chris Yeo, who were simply outstanding. Their record-breaking 10th-wicket partnership (new league and club record I believe) completely transformed the game and shifted all of the momentum back in our favour.
“We carried that momentum straight into our bowling and fielding, and the lads were exceptional in every department.
“It was a fantastic team performance and a brilliant day for the club.
“This division continues to throw up some bizarre results, which just shows that anybody can beat anybody on their day.
“There is still a lot of cricket to be played, and we'll continue to fight for every run, every wicket and every point between now and the end of the season.”

“This is the second time a team has put on a big last-wicket stand against us this year. First time it nearly cost us; this time it did.
“I don’t think we did a lot wrong after putting ourselves in a really strong place, we just couldn’t get the last wicket. Big credit to Harry Pitman for a great opening spell.
“We were well on top of the game and a bit of luck and lack of concentration for the second half of our bowling innings cost us a strong position and a lot of momentum. It’s definitely a game that got away.
“We aren’t getting the filter down of first-team players due to poor availability which is really impacting us as a club.
“This is something we need to address as a club, both sides are constantly having 3/4 changes each week.
“We haven’t been able to field a settled batting line up all season and this shows in are scoring.”
