Guidance for ensuring club constitution and key governance documents are up to date and in line with ECB requirements.

The Devon Cricket Foundation have shared the following guidance to ensure clubs update their key documentation in order to meet ECB requirements.

All affiliated club Chairs and Secretaries have been contacted directly by the Foundation with the below guidance, which is unchanged from last season.

Club Constitutions Review

Clubs are urged to review their club constitution so that they can pass any necessary changes. There are several points that all clubs must have in place and are essential to accessing the ECB County Grants Fund and ECB accreditation scheme (Clubmark).

Of particular note are:

3.1 The Club shall adopt and implement the ECB Safe Hands – Cricket’s Policy for Safeguarding Children and any future versions of the policy.  The Club must also sign the ECB Safeguarding Policy Statement for clubs.

3.2 The Club shall adopt and implement the ECB Anti-Discrimination Code of Conduct and any future versions of this policy.

Safe Hands Management System (SHMS)

The ‘off-season’ is a good time to ensure all of your volunteers are up to date with their ECB DBS check and have accepted their role on the SHMS.

With AGMs approaching it is also a time where clubs are likely to have changed officials and need to add/remove individuals from the system.
